I just don't get this at all. After 35 minutes yes you are correct. With a halftime talk with 11 players on the pitch thing can and have changed many times for us. So how can you say seriously that we might have nicked an undeserved point, there was 60 minutes plus still to play?
Obviously pleased for the lad Morton. He looked shell shocked at the decision and it definitely didn’t help our cause of trying to win the game. Officiating any game without VAR is difficult these days but on this occasion it’s been proven now the Ref got it wrong. Windass was almost hysterical in trying to get the lad sent off and he definitely had an influence making up the slow minded response of the Referee to the incident. Having Morton available now and back for selection has to be a Massive boost for City. UTT.
Of course it's a bit of a guess and I could absolutely be wrong, but after decades of watching football you get a feel for these things, thats my feeling. Couple that with the individual performances in the last 60 mins not really changing from the first 35.
I've been going for decades too. I think yes the 1st 35 you are 100% correct. How could the last 60 minutes be compared to that. We went down to 10 men. LRs team talk at halftime would have be a totally different story. It was 0-0 at the time with everything to play for. Coupled with that Morton was a very important player to us.
You'd have no doubt said exactly the same after 35 minutes of the Boro game and you'd have been completely wrong. We were being outplayed and that may well have continued, but maybe not, we'll never know.
That's a surprise. I didn't think he had a leg to stand on. Ref was clearly influenced by Windass's warbling and the lads clutching of leg as if he'd never walk again.
Think I saw a tweet from a talksport journo soon after the game quoting Hackett as saying it was no more than a yellow.
It was a great tackle and should still be classed as that these days. The sooner we stop watering down and making football softer the better
I’m sorry mate it wasn’t a great tackle He went to ground when there was no need First rule of tackling Stay on your feet
I thought it was reckless at the time and it still appears that way to me... BUT!!! I'm glad it's been overturned,Morton is a really decent player and we need him playing
