I asked Bing Image generator to show me the winner of the 2023/2024 season. Instead it gave me the winner of the 2023/2239 season... this season is going to be dragged out for over 200 years. Which wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact City are going to win it. Also, in 2239, every City player will have identical facial hair.
Not an everlasting season, just rounding up every season from now until eternity after the FA let Citeh get away with the 115 and ffp is disbanded
I knew what you meant mate but you've seriously ****ed up the wording Aim high as possible; if you fail you may still achieve. Aim for you target; if you fail, you fail.
I'd be very surprised if we didn't plan every season on getting 90+ points. I'd be very surprised if the plan wasn't to win all our games. I'd be very surprised if we thought we could just wing it and not put in the hard yards in training and fitness and being motivated to the max. We're not planning for the worst or hoping for the best. We're planning for the best and doing everything required to put us in the position for it to become a reality. No top athlete starts the season, tournament or whatever saying 'I hope I win'.
I don't think we plan or target any amount of points, I don't think Klopp would allow it. One game at a time, add the points up at the end.
While I agree with this and it's certainly what the players always say when interviewed, in each of their minds at the start of the season, they will be seeing the whole picture/the whole season and having the aim of securing as many trophies as possible. They have to do it one game at a time but the plan (or whatever you want to call it) for the season will be set at the outset before a ball is kicked.
Well, maybe so but there's this thing called belief and sometimes players see what they can achieve and really start going for it. I'm not so sure many of our squad would have been thinking of being top after 20 games, they'd want to win games and try for the Cups and see where they are but really believing you will go from 67 points and turn it about. I sincerely doubt villa though they'd be where they are either. All I'm saying is you have to pain for city coming strong and if you sit sown as a team and say let's really go for this then you can't go for 84 points we will need at least 90 and then see . We should know from hard experience of finishing second to these guys that you have to be perfecf
It makes sense the referee should get to celebrate with the rest of the City squad. No one works harder to gain City titles!
You seem to be doing a bit of mixed messaging. My original response was to you saying that we should plan for the worst. I took issue with that and tried to say why. You can plan for the worst generally, let's say you're going on a picnic on a sunny day but take along an umbrella and waterproofs, just in case. The idea doesn't translate into the football situation. You can't make sure that you win in football but just in case - what?
so when I say the worst I mean city do what they do and get 50 points from 19 games, if we are serious about the title we have to assume they will until proven otherwise. as such we need another 45 points from 18 games. I then showed all the games we have and how tough thsts going to be and commented that we needed to look at all bottom half games as must win and looked at the top half and what games might be really tough. 45 points from 18 games is a massive ask. it requires total focus of the type we produced in 19/20.
After 20 games in 19/20 we had 58 points. This year no one has more than 45 points (us). City potentially will be at 43 points. This season and that season are very different and the requirements will be very different. But yes, if we want to be 100% sure of winning the title, with absolutely no wiggle room for doubt- we will need to get at least 45 points. 40 would probably do it though.
I think, as a professional player at a top club, you aim to win everything and they'd be confident of winning every game they go into. They'll know at the start of the season that they won't win them all, but they'd be confident of winning trophies.
Not perfect - just better than them. At the beginning of every season I think we can win it - that's not the same as predicting we will. I'd expect the players to have the same attitude.
No professional club as ever had a perfect season and probably never will Having a "perfect season" means winning every game without conceding a single goal and lifting every trophy.
