Two of them were in the Champions League this season and the other one won it, what, three years ago?
True. Wolves are level on points with Cheslea though and Ballmouth would join them if they win their game in hand.
And that's 8 points below European placement. With no Europe that's less money to spend without being afowl of FFP. Not that Chelsea care about that. Good job Chelsea isn't stuck with their mediocre.players for long contracts...
some of the practices that are coming out in the wash in the FFP debacle are looking like clubs havbe not got a leg to stand on. Forest are attempting to say that they had to hang onto Johnson until august to maximise return and they would have made x before july so they should be allowed put x into the prior years revenues. Sorry but the world doesn't work like that. If you tried that on in any regular business the tax man would be at your door. Anyone who's ever been forced to sit in ethics and compliance trainings knows that about a third of any course is don't fiddle your sales months and the others are don't be a racist or sexual predator Forest's problem is that 2 of their 3 years are in the championship so that means their scope before serious breach is reduced. As such they are now in serious breach. chelsea are massively in trouble. If they were in europe they would be expelled from competition. Everton have again breached and are likely again to be punished. They have not got a pot to piss in. a lot of clubs have attempted to pull a fast one with covid and rack up massive losses in one year, Arsenal and spurs are actually in real trouble as well. Its actually really unclear how arsenal are not in serious breach. Man utd are another wit consistent losses that push them over the edge. Right now the 20/21 season has all the big losses and it muddies the waters for a lot of clubs If you lookt at villa they declared a massive 275mil loss in covid somehow. This really should be looked at very closely too.
One of them, it came at a awkward height and he managed to knee it on target, but Dubravka saved it. It was a great attempt.
the alternative view of the big 6 is that the likes of west ham, villa and brighton are now potential king makers Brighton 2 LFC 2 Man city 2 Brighton 1 Arsenal 2 Brighton 0 Aston villa 6 Brighton 1 you'll note that while we've only drawn our trip to the south coast is done while everyone else in the current top 4 must go there Liverpool 3 Villa 0 Villa 1 City 0 villa 1 Arsenal 0 Again our home game is done. Villa have beaten our rivals at home. Huge huge game in matchday 37 for us. West ham 1 City 3 Liverpool 3 West sham 1 Arsanl 0 West ham 2 Again Our home game is done. City won at theirs and arsenal lost at home. We need to win all 3 games imo to have a shot at the title and 2 are away days. My assumptions are: 1. parity in the super league 7 table is a must. At least pick up as many points as city. (tough, may mean having to beat them at home, we have 5 more of these games and city have 6. ) 2. Out do city in the remaining top 10. This means 3 wins against west ham ,villa and Brighton as city will probably do this as 2 are at home for them 3. Win all 10 bottom half games we have left. (30 points available) our 45 points would then approach 90. City are sat on 40 after 19 games so need to take 50points from 19 which they have done several times. Our target here must be 47 from 18. That is IF city have the capability this season to take 50points in the run in and manage their treble attempt. our remaining games: A.F.C. Bournemouth (a) must win Chelsea (h) must win (they are awful) Arsenal (a) TOUGH, must not lose Burnley (h) must win Brentford (a) must win Luton Town (h) must win Nottingham Forest (a) must win Manchester City (h) TOUGH, must not lose. Everton (a) must win Brighton (h) must win Sheffield United (h) must win Manchester United (a). Park the bus ****s. Crystal Palace (h) must win Fulham (a) must win West Ham United (a) must win Tottenham Hotspur (h) This could be our undoing Aston Villa (a) this could be our undoing. Wolverhampton (h) must win I mean theres not a lot of scope for a loss here is there? I see 39 points in must win games and then its Arsenal away, City at home, Man utd away, Spurs at home, villa away. we need to win 3 of those 5 games and not lose to city. Again IF city are going to go on the run we assume they will do. Nobody has managed it so far and those last 4 games are tough. real tough.
QUOTE="moreinjuredthanowen, post: 17235584, member: 1010745"]sorry it doesn't work that way. turn up on the day and do your best is where we are at.
was your reply when Dribs talked about winning one game and yet you try to predict the rest of the season did you enjoy doing that ?
Its the 3 Away games against the rest of the top 4 that will be the defining points for us. Arsenal (a) TOUGH, must not lose Manchester City (h) TOUGH, must not lose. Aston Villa (a) this could be our undoing. The Villa game is as much a "TOUGH, must not lose" game as the Arsenal and City games based on their home record.
was your reply when Dribs talked about winning one game and yet you try to predict the rest of the season did you enjoy doing that ?
Well I did with lots of ifs stated clearly! what we might need to do to have a chance at it is not a prediction must win is not a prediction. mist not lose is not a prediction either stating if city do what they have shown they can is also not predicting they will, is it its also quite fair to say we can't pick and choose results line trading a win in the leavue for a loss in the fa cup.
for all you know Villa will have dropped away and start concentrating on Conference League , City continue wuth their erratic form etc . In effevt you are assuming everything carries on as now with the exception that City will go into a big winning streak .
maybe they will. maybe they will be fighting for 4th. maybe they will be fighting for 6th. their home form is the data we have and their home form is very good today. maybe city will have erratic form..maybe they won't. again all we have is the last to look at which is why others, not me, are saying 10games on the bounce is inevitable. I'm not saying anything bar if we want to push for the title we should plan for the worst not hope for the best. and that plan should be to get to 90+ points.
Just think of all that time and typing you would have saved yourself had you just said that originally
