Unless the money spent on permanents is about securing one of the loans or two? Then we replace the loans? I'd expect anything like that would come together at the end of the window though. One thing I'm confident of is that we'll be prioritising a fullback early in the window, probably a centre mid too.
I'm sure we'd love to get one permanently but who is certainly the question. I hope we don't lose Twine as that's another that would need replacing and it's already a short and tough window.
And if Vinagre goes back, that'll be 2. Seems you're thinking if we nibble at Twine, it'll be summer? That one for me would seem the most attainable.
Have listened, looks like Vinagre cost us a lot - wasn't there someone on here claiming we were practically getting him for free? Seems like he's back off to Portugal thankfully. What a waste that was.
It's worrying that he was meant to be Liam's no. 1 target last summer. Even the optional buy out clause was laughable. It's been a position needing strengthening for a long time. Come to think of it, when's the last time we spent any decent money on our back 4 and keeper? From memory coyle, christie, elder, Ingram, long, Jones, mcloughlin, lo tutala, allsop etc have all either been free or very cheap. Not much investment over the years especially as this will be Acuns 4th transfer window.
Quite a few yes queried it and a few clever ****s suggested you needed coaching badges and a medical team to do that
Bartłomiej Drągowski is the latest keeper we're being linked with. I thought his name was familiar so I googled him.. If anyone played Football Manager about 8 years ago he might be a name you remember. He was once rated very highly.
IMO the squad's woefully lightweight to be competing for a top 6 position. I think we still need; GK, RB, CB, 2x LB, CM, RW, LW, ST What I think we'll see this window is; GK, LB, LW and hopefully a CM. Might we see Twine signing on a perm to free up a loan spot? We need to get rid of some of the deadwood too. Vinagre, Doc and Sinik need to find new homes and some of the youngsters need to get out on loan if they're not going to get any minutes here; Lo-Tutula/Robson, Covil, Smith, Jacob, Furlong.
He was 1st choice keeper at Serie B team Spezia Calcio, looks like he missed a couple of games through injury in early December and has been warming the bench for the last three matches. Played 47 games for Spezia since joining them in August 2022 from Fiorentina. He won't come cheap - so we would then look to sell or loan out a keeper to make space for him. I am sure there would be takers for Matty Ingram in this window.
From Dull Daily. Aaron Connolly - contract ends this summer Greg Docherty - option year ends this summer Adama Traore - two-year deal ends this summer but the club has an option Cyrus Christie - two-year deal ends this summer but the club has an option Matty Jacob - one-and-a-half year deal ends this summer but the club has an option Vaughn Covil - two-year deal ends this summer but the club has an option Billy Sharp - six-month deal comes to an end in the summer Loan players set to leave Scott Twine - returning to Burnley Ruben Vinagre - returning to Sporting Lisbon Liam Delap - returning to Manchester City Tyler Morton - returning to Liverpool
Hasn't Connolly already been offered a new contract? Assume the club will trigger the extension on Jacob's and, possibly, Covil's contract. Means another busy window though. Would love to see Delap and Morton back next year, but I don't see it, in any circumstance.
