Supporter suggests you are doing something to help, i.e singing in the ground, or buying merchandise. Fan just means you like something. Not that i really care, it's basically two different words for the same thing.
This is the most stupid topic ever. The bedwetters wet the bed because we want the very best for the club. It hurts so deeply when we lose that we have to vent. It’s hurting bad. How people can just go “ok shrug the shoulders we lost” is mind blowing for me. Losing a game is life threatening for me because I take so much enjoyment out of our club winning. Losing hurts like a knife through the throat. That’s love. For the club.
Also I think a true supporter is one who signs up to a Membership even though he can't go to most of the games, and, when he can go, loses out in the ballot.
I actually like losing I'm sadistic to degree because I know most of my enemies support Newcastle. There's a silver lining there.
I think there's a big difference between someone who's insecure about this. And then someone who doesn't give a **** what people think. Some on here from both camps are insecure. Can't handle certain posts and opinions.
I just think we can all be fans and support the club how we see fit. Im a negative person in general. Being 44 I’ve not seen us win a sausage other than the championship. Had some relatively good times in the Keegan days but always fell short. When we lose 7/8 games I see it for what it is. Poor form. Some can just go meh we will win soon. I can’t do that.
