Flattered to deceive this season though, and he has had opportunities.

Not in his natural position though. He’s played on the wing. 20 games played, 14 started, wing for 8 games of those starts. The 6 he started centrally however coincide with some of our best performances from an attacking POV, Plymouth at home we should’ve won about 5-0, Stoke away, also started centrally in the Leicester win. Was really good central against Preston. He gets shoe horned into the side in a position he’s never played and then people say he’s flattered to deceive

I agree, needs a good run of games in the middle where he’s at his best. Got a great touch, decent shot on him and most importantly can play those killer through balls that no one else seems to do. Playing him on the wing just kills his game.

I think he deserves a run but Tufan has really stepped up the last few games. We desperately need something centrally that’s different to what we’ve got. Doc type with more ability.

In comparison to last year he's played more in a central position, and still gone backwards. Does he get in ahead of Seri, Morton or Slater in one of the deep berths? I'd suggest not, Same with the 10 slot he's justifiably behind Tufan and Twine at the moment.

It's unfortunate that he's not around when we could actually use him though, I'll grant you that.

He played centrally every game at the back end of last season he now plays wide primarily and is wasted entirely. I’d much rather him centrally then Slater.

He doesn't offer much in the way of engine for me. I'd argue if missing Seri and Morton then he'd be in there, but when he's played this season he's missed a couple of sitters in central positions, whether nominally playing as an inverted wide player or not.

Seem to recall he missed one recently late on as well.

Either way I'm not seeing much to think he'd be a answer over Tufan. Twine. Morton or Seri more centrally. He's hardly grabbed the opportunities he's had over the course of this season so far.

And he has played right at a decent level elsewhere in his career.

Why do they need to be starters to share their experience? Isn't that the concept of being good to have in the dressing room?

    Benson is 26, hardly young.

26 is generally considered to be a player coming into his prime. We have experienced players in the squad already but then it's not much good if you're a right back who can't defend being cut inside.

At least 1 against Wednesday came the same way. Must be 6 or 7 identical goals since the start of December now. Almost all with Christie playing on that flank.

Everyone seems to be looking for a silver bullet that answers our problems and folk are still banging on about Coyle, the left side, the midfield, tactics and everything but the one thing that in isolation is responsible for at least 7 points dropped in a month, possibly more.

We desperately need at least one fullback as we clearly can't rely on Christie in the right at the moment.

He hasn't really got credible alternative options. Since Bristol he's favoured starting Coyle on the right, but when you have 4 games in 8 days and only 2 fit fullbacks - and remember Coyle's carrying a knock, then Christie has come on largely out of necessity.

Cant Tufan play the deep lying midfielder role?

He has in his career, yes.

Also put in a decent performance from deep around the time Traore had a decent game there a couple of months back.

It's Ozans consistency that's the issue.

He could boss the show one day and be relatively ineffective the next.

Before my time unfortunately. I could have put Justin Whittle or Ian Goodison in there though!
