Football then and now are not the same and If they wanted to keep a player they would much like salah in the summer. Newcastle are in a position where they have to sell to spend Liverpool and the other big clubs aren't that's the key here.
Think I said this but there's players like Cairney who played in the championship most his career who is a vastly superior player.. essentially it wouldn't take much to replace longstaff with a better player. Much like shelvey he's always going to have his supporters but he's absolutely dreadful and when he's gone nobody will miss him.
Newcastle are just going to to have to hang fire for a time or sell a player / players. This club is a seedling going up against fully fledged trees.
You’re the one who mentioned Liverpool at their peak, not me. It’s now the old ‘move the goalposts’ line that you’re adopting, I see. You said Newcastle were a selling club. I said name a club that isn’t. You said Liverpool at their peak. I proved that to be wrong. Now the goalposts are moved. Anyway. 1. Fabinho. 2. Mane 3. Coutinho. Do you want to try again?
With the exception of Coutinho they were passed their peak and you don't seem to understand the point which is that Newcastle can't spend due to ffp so selling reason is forced. Liverpool turned down 100 million for a 31 year old last summer. A selling club can't say no to that.
No it doesn't because Liverpool wanted to sell him Newcastle don't want to have to sell Guimareas. I don't think you understand that FFP is the issue for Newcastle.
Errr no, wrong again. https://www.skysports.com/football/...d on Friday why the,There was no other option. I’ve never mentioned FFP. It has nothing to do with your original comment which was an attempt to disparage Us by calling Us a selling club. I’ve just proved and you have accepted that every Club is a selling club. I know full well that we are affected by FFP. It’s a point I’ve been making all season to those who think their is a magic money tree wand.
Managers always talk out their arse when then sell a player. Howe is a prime example. What's he going to do say he wanted a better player. Ultimately Liverpool are a juggernaut in comparison to revenues and if they fancy Guimareas they'll just buy him... they won't sell a player just to get him. I don't think you realise how far away Newcastle are in comparison to Liverpool mate come on.
