    Sarr Sarr Toure committing :1980_boogie_down:

Dragusin agreeing personal terms and waiting or us and Genoa to agree a fee. Hurry up, Levy, can be a good news week if he gets in soon and picks up minutes in the Burnley game before we face Utd.

I don't think he's that bad but Udogie has raised the LB bar beyond anything I've seen in my time supporting Spurs.

I'd far sooner see Sessegnon leave before Reguilon.

Spurs being Spurs, my worry is Reggie being sent back somehow ****s it up as we're at our Overseas limit with him back

Probably explains the talk of us looking to loan him back out ASAP

He shouldn't be short of any suitors, decent enough player who I think we've weirdly discarded despite keeping far worse (Sessegnon, Dier, Emerson etc). There's some Utd fan talk on Twitter that would've much preferred to keep him and sell/ loan out Malacia.

Realistically though it shouldn't affect any incomings for us, if we don't/ can't sell or loan him then he simply remains unregistered.

Either way it shows what multiple managers think of him.

I doubt he will be registered, surely he’s done at Spurs. Had lots of managers and chances but never really looked good.
Sessegnon is terrible too, hopefully both won’t be Spurs players for too much longer.

    Agreed.

Which makes the Sessegnon situation even more baffling. Apparently Poch, Jose, Conte and Ange all see something in him.

    I'll have whatever they're smoking.

It really doesn't, as he was loaned in due to Luke Shaw's injury - and it does have to be said he was preferred over Dalot for a chunk of the season

The fact he's reportedly on Dortmund's radar suggests he's highly rated...or one of Ryerson or Bensabaini is injured

Would Reguilon as back-up and competition be worse than literally nobody?
We haven't been linked with a left-back and I can't see anyone shifting Udogie, anyway.
The best we'll get is a loan, so why not keep him and use him?

IIRC the two issues with Reggie is he wants to start yet Udogie was obviously going to be first choice, and we needed to free up Overseas spots and he was the easiest player to sacrifice at the time (outside of Ndombele and the more literal definition, anyway)

And that probably made sense at the time.
If Reguilon really wants to start all the time and there's a suitable loan, then it still might.
Dortmund have been suggested, for example.

Our loans have largely been ****, though.
We genuinely would've been better off not bothering.
We've also basically lost Perisic for the season and have players the manager won't pick.
Our signings have been very good. Our loans and sales have been a stark contrast.

I would rather see Reggie as our back up LB rather than Royal so I would prefer he stays.

Our loans have been up and down

Tanganga has been an utter disaster ever since he fell off a bike in training, Ndombele has been...well Ndombele, and Scarlett we managed to diddle out of potential minutes by bringing him on against Fulham

On the other hand Devine and Rodon have done well, Parrott's played himself into starting games, and Reggie did manage to play a lot more than he did for Atletico Madrid last season...by October, in fact

I don't think Jose did to be fair. Rarely played him when he wasn't injured and then sanctioned his loan to Hoffenheim once we signed Reguilon.

Jose actually had more or less a spot on analysis/ evaluation of our squad and what was needed once he was in. It's just his ways of showing he was right plus his tactics ended up exacerbating the very issues he pointed out.

Reguilon always looked as though he would be an exciting addition to our squad. The Spanish heritage added some glamour but in reality he is just a workman like LB. Does put in some good crosses but sometimes looks timid in facing defenders. Sessignon on the other hand, still has potential in my view. He was extremely highly rated at Fulham when we bought him but so far has not shown it because of continuing injuries. If as is reported surgery has solved these problems and with Ange managing he may still blossom. Therefore at this stage, I would keep Sessignon over Reguilon. OR! get someone with an easier name to spell.

Personally I disagree about the potential, I don’t think he’s even shown a single glimpse of becoming a good player here for us. Everything he does is borderline horrendous

But that aside, I don’t think he’d ever reach any level of potential here whilst Udogie’s at the club. He’d need to play more than once every two months or so to ever really develop and Udogie has our LB spot for as long as he’s here… which is hopefully a very long time, albeit I do see Madrid/ City sniffing around a lot sooner than we’d like.

If he stands in the way of a signing ok but I am arguing of the two Regg or Sess then give Sess the chance that injury may have inhibited.
It appears it's more common than we think that players play with injuries that are patched rather than fixed. Obviously players want to be part of the PL both for sporting and financial reasons if they can cover an injury they will. We also know that to play any sport at your best you have to be fit and uninjured. Golf is perhaps the exception where the saying 'beware the injured golfer' has some truth in it. Football at PL level requires every bit of your ability to compete. We have already seen Kulusevski, Son and Richarlison all perform below their best by playing injured. We need our medics to identify what is going on with our players to make sure they get the treatment they need. I would hope that 'I feel fine' is not taken at face value.

But what chance is that? That's what I'm trying to say.

You said you'd pick Sessegnon over Reguilon to backup Udogie based on what you believe is Sessegnon's potential, how will he reach this potential if he only plays about once every six weeks?

Of what we've seen in his four and a half years, I think you, I and the rest of this board would agree that Sessegnon is comfortably in the bottom three players at this football club at present, for him to ever turn that fortune around he'd need to play fairly regularly, yet he will never play regularly whilst Udogie is here.

Ultimately it doesn't really matter though in the long term because once our CBs are back fit, Davies will go back to backing up Udogie anyway, so Sessegnon and Reguilon are almost certainly never going to play again for the club, albeit with our injury issues this season I probably shouldn't bank on that.

Except, like Perisic, he's not really a full back. Any break through would be as a left wing in our set up.
