Don't know if anyone else remembers Calvert-Lewin getting a pen for the ****e at Anfield a few seasons back when Lovren literally placed a gentle hand on the small of his back? That great unbiased, epitome of fairness that is Alan Shearer vehemently maintained it was pen because we should understand that when a forward was running through at full pace they are easily knocked off balance. It only took him about a month to change his mind when Salah got a pen for being dragged back at his shoulder (against West Brom, iirc), but changed it back again when a Newcastle player went down like a sack of **** just days after that.

There seems to be a pattern here. :emoticon-0112-wonde

A blatant trip from behind, shirt pulling, rugby tackle, etc.

Just very few that a keeper would do since most situations between an attacker and keeper are 'face-to-face'

Almost identical to what Trent tried to do last night. Just inches in it.

Not convinced either meant it, both probably just looking to fire out across goal

I remember scoring in the over 30's league with my head from halfway line (not full size field, so not sure the exact distance), ball was rifled in my direction from an opposition free kick and I redirected it towards the net

Everyone laughed "haha, what a fluke, he didn't mean it"... But the ball went exactly where I aimed it and where I intended it to go. I can't say I was expecting to score, more that I was trying to get it near the goal for someone to run onto, but I was aiming directly for goal on purpose...

I count it as a legitimate goal even if everyone else on my team chalked it up as a fluke and accident. <laugh>

You're probably right but had he scored he would have meant it :bandit:

No. Because grabbing someone’s shirt isn’t going for the ball? Not really a difficult one there. But diving at a players feet is a clear attempt to try and get the ball… unless the ball is on their head or something.

So it went in the direction you headed it? Would you say you intentionally scored an own goal if you passed backwards and the keeper missed the ball? Afterall, the ball went in the direction you intended ;)

Jones has gone up this season in my estimation. He's more than just the "home grown filler" that I once incorrectly chalked him up as. Still not going to make our strongest XI, but he's become a very useful player to have in the squad and has improved dramatically the last 12 to 18 months.

He was one of our better players towards the end of last season.

ffs of course not as it would clearly not be a genuine attempt to get the ball .

Trent meant it. You can see him look up and see no one in the box and the pace he hit it is not a conducive to a cross for someone to run onto.
