I agree with this. If we're talking about getting rid of players he's one you can get rid of. Some Brit will sign him.
They'll sell him and buy absolute dross more than likely, but either way financial fair play works...nobody can actually catch up and compete.
For 100 million I'd consider it for the long term plan but I wouldnt believe a word that comes out of Alex Crooks mouth
With our recruitment since then I'd warn against it. Newcastle are still just food I guess and this takeover isn't what people thought..ultimately not much has changed just bad a good season and there's years to go until they'll be a top 7 club regularly.
So you're saying we still don't have to sell our best players , people weren't expecting a more brash approach and it won't take years to be a top 7 club regularly? Remember I've got the player bingo threads at my disposal.
Newcastle have been selling their best players for years but the previous owner was criticised for it. It's strange that now it's fine and so is signing average players.
There is a few "big" name players we could do with selling tbh but Bruno is not one. Basically Pope, Botman, Bruno, Isak can be a very good spine to the team for 5-8 years so none of them would be allowed to leave in my world. Miggy and Wilson are the standouts for me if you are looking to sell some, if you could get £15m-20m for each of them I'd have them out the door before the ink had dried... Personally would have explored options to get shot of Miggy after his purple patch last year.
I absolutely agree mate.. I do think Bruno will want to leave because he won't want to waste his short career fighting for the unachievable here when he can go to Madrid or even Liverpool and win things. If the right club wants him he will do what's best for him not us or a club that isn't appearing to do anything significant in the next 5 years. Botman and isak will probably be the same actually.
That's because most people don't look at things in isolation. Previous owner: always willing to sell for the right offer, no matter player importance. Minimal spend to scrape by. No ambition beyond staying in PL for the TV money. Stifling clubs growth to benefit his other interests through free/minimal fee advertising.
Absolutely but the fact remains Newcastle are still a selling club if they can't keep their best players. The big clubs would sell the players not quite suitable for them not one of their few key players. Newcastle are miles off where they want to be and where large numbers of fans thought they were based on one flash in the pan season. Newcastle sold Andy Cole and we won nothing.
I agree mate that's why ideally I'd like to sell the players like Lascelles Murphy longstaff and even Almiron and Wilson instead. These players nobody will miss once they're gone and if replaced with one or two good players we'll be better off. Longstaff I mean ok I get it he's a local lad and runs alot but he's just nowhere near what is required... the boy at Fulham Cairney is a world beater in comparison... gone most his career in the lower league.
