If we maintain this form over remaining games we’re on course to get 93.8pts. The highest points total for 2nd place since the start of the championship was 93, Brighton 2017/2018. If we keep this up we would be very unlucky not to get automatic promotion.

Two weeks ago, the gap was 12 points (and 15 goals). Now, four games later, the gap is 3 points (and 0 goals). And yet Ipswich have only lost once during that period. Which highlights just how damaging draws are at the top end.

We’re 11 points behind Leicester but have only lost one match more than them. That is exactly the problem, not the 4 games we lost but the times we allowed a win to slip away through a lapse in concentration.

Or lack of cutting edge / ruthlessness. I don’t think the Rotherham goal was related to Concentration. But I get the point

Not sure if mentioned, but seems Rooney may do anything for a win....<laugh>

Nice finish, but that goal was all about Clarke. Sunderland will do well to keep him this month - and even better to then keep him in the summer too. He's off to the PL (hopefully with us).

He's in my top 3 Championship players, alongside Summervile and KDH (sorry KWP - you can be 4th).

Doesn’t he play in the position where we have most options? In Edozie, Fraser, Sulemana and Armstrong

He can play either side, and seems comfortable using either foot (albeit his right is strongest). Sunderland do seem to prefer to use him on the left, cutting inside onto his right foot.

But whether used on the right or left, I expect Clarke to shine in the PL in future seasons. Unlike, for example, Fraser (sorry wee man).

Fair point on Fraser. And probably Armstrong too

Rooney’s Birmingham are now just Birmingham again.

Proof if any were needed that the fans sometimes do understand football better than the people in charge.

That would be fair comment, if they weren’t performing at a much higher standard before he joined.

Personally I think it was a bad choice on his behalf to take the job on anyway, Eustace was absolutely maxing out what that team was capable of and I don’t believe there was any room for improvement at that stage.

Hassenhuttl being linked with the Birmingham job. That'd be an interesting one.

Dreadful appointment - his body language was shocking, and he never sounded like he wanted to be there.
