Could be, but it also could be better and if we'd learned from mistakes that seem to constantly happen then it would be better, but we don't and if we continue to ignore/not learn from them, IT WILL get worse

Things could always be worse, it’s a strange point to make, but things could also be better too. Not sure why people think so many of us want us to fail, we want the best for City but can actually see issues with certain ways we do stuff and aren’t wearing rose tinted glasses.

LR has said recently a few times that he thinks we should have more points which is exactly what a few of us have been saying, are the usual suspects on here who call us negative, say we're wanting us to fail, having an agenda against LR, calling threads we create discussing progress "dog whistle", going to call LR those things now he's said the same?

Unfortunately LR this has been our “normal way” for the last month of games. Too many are simply not going to cut it at this end of the championship. Plenty of effort and endeavour but we have too many who get praised merely for effort every week. We play the most difficult form of football to be successful in the championship as a side without parachute payments so we need to accept we won’t be going up this season (which is probably a good thing) and be really ruthless in summer once the likes of Greaves go for decent money.

Think their manager must have been watching a different game, at least where we were concerned

Any criticism or clear negative on a performance and you sugar coat it without fail, every single time. You're going to get football diabetes.

There are no buzzwords, there is no narrative, there are no cliches and the criticisms don't just come when we lose as you're suggesting.

Tonight Rosenior, the referee and too many of our players' decisions were wrong. It's not even something that can be argued with.

I very much doubt it mate, we’re just negative bastards who revel in us failing. I love spending my hard earned money watching us home and away to watch us lose just to come on a forum and have a moan.

He got it wrong today - but what is often missing in defeat is a complete lack of perspective.

We’re 7th, missing our best player at the moment, missing a key midfielder and down to 10 men. It’s not burying your head in the sand, it’s just realising that not every win is genius and not every loss is a disaster.

There are calls for a different manager on here. That’s madness. Our back 5 over the last week have been with us since League 1. We are working up to being a better squad, but bringing on Docherty, Jacob and Allahyar today shows us we are not quite where some who bemoan our defeats think we are.

January is important and it was poor today, but it’s pointless losing heads every time we lose.

It starts to become a disaster when the losses are all coming from the same kind of mistakes/performances. That's not bad luck or players missing etc, that's habits forming and it's worrying because players/lr look like they're struggling to change it. There's no lack of perspective there at all....I don't care where we were last season or where we could be next season etc, it's about the here and now and right here right now the repetitive crappy mistakes are costing us time and time again

No I didn't go, I watched it on Sky. No I'm not happy with how we played. I don't agree with all of your appraisal of Rosenior but we've done that to death and I can't be arsed to get into that.

It also showed that Rosenior threw in the towel (could even argue he did it at HT when it was still 0-0). **** game management, **** decisions, but more to the point, disgraceful imo.

Well, some of it is bad luck and players missing though isn’t it? If we’d have had Philogene available these last few games, I suspect we’d be looking at at least one extra win. If the ref didn’t send off Morton today, who’s to say we don’t have a better second half like we did at Boro?

Patterns have emerged, yes, but why? Have we got too many players playing above their level? Is it because we have some magic young players who by their nature might be inconsistent?

Im not saying you are wrong and this isnt the start of a downward slump, but ignoring the last year is nonsense in my opinion. The here and now only works if you look at games in isolation. The evidence suggests we are moving in the right direction, and we are obviously a team and manager in progress. Most squads have inconsistent periods where form is patchy, not helped by player availability.

Yes. None of this tapping it slightly to one side and hope the goalie dives the other way.
Hit it hard just inside the post!

What decisions show he threw in the towel at half time?

Thought not. To both not going and agreeing with Rosenior getting things wrong again.

But what exactly can be done without bringing in new players? We've tried Slater, Coyle and Greaves at LB. But this issue is amplified by Christie looking past it and Macca looking like an accident waiting to happen when he's brought back into the side.
