Ordinarly there would be no question if that was a good point or not. It's just because of the mad start Leicester and Ipswich had we needed to win almost every week. But now that Ipswich are slipping up and are over their freak run of form, we need to look at that as a good point, another game unbeaten and 10 points from 12 over the festive period.
12 days until our next league game. We're being linked with a number of wide men (particularly for the right side) on loan, so hopefully that will be enough time to get someone in. Could be important if Edozie is out for a while (fingers crossed he isn't). Holgate being recalled by Everton (which looks very likely given that he wasn't on the bench today) will presumably free up some wages.
Tbf, I know it's their job and all that but with most everyone else enjoying their Christmas festivities, having the expectations of 000's on your shoulders over the same period, it's not just the physical aspects which tire them out. We're ok is my view.
I can't believe we've gone 18 games unbeaten. Its just mental ! It won't happen again in most people's life time realistically. Enjoy the moment! Historic and closing in on the all time 100 year + record
Didn't see the game so can't make any comments about whether we deserved more or not. But quite often we have lost games in these situations especially after being in front and then crumbling to late pressure. There were many of us who felt uncomfortable before the game and would have settled for a point. We would have still been behind Ipswich even if we had won and still have a good lead over Leeds. West Brom lost to keep them away from the door, so all in all not so bad. We are still in a very handy position and although it would be nice to be in Leicester's position, trying to chase down Ipswich and having Leeds trying to chase us at the same time makes for quite an edgy situation. This is what being in the Championship was what quite a few said would make it better than the PL isn't it? Though I've always said the PL is the place to be, competing for success is a novel experience compared to competing against relegation.
In isolation a point is ok. But we’ve been saying it’s the number of draws which separate us from Leicester. It’s okay if we win against shef wed, but we need to be careful how many draws we get.
Yeah it's brilliant. When you actually think about that it's January and we've not lost since September it's mental really. Really hope we see it through now as today always looked the toughest one.
Another game that shows how much we need a decent striker, how many crosses and corners did we have with nobody there to get a head or an outstretched leg on it?
No, the Edozie challenge probably should have been a red, and the same player committed several more fouls after his yellow. It’s a complete joke.
Maybe Russ, and the board, are playing the long game here - put Stuey on for as long as possible, to keep him in the shop (transfer) window for any interested clubs, whilst hiding Alcaraz under the counter, so that no-one else gets to see how good he is.
Just read RMs comments post game bbc. Should have fouled the norwich player before the equaliser. He's right looking at the brief sky highlights.
I haven’t seen RM’s comments but I just came on to say exactly that. I texted my son at the time and said that Stuart should have pulled the guy back instead of letting him run on and pick out the through ball. Before the game I would have been satisfied with a point, but feel a little down that we couldn’t take all three points in the end. We looked tired and I think we were lucky that Norwich sat back for most of the game because we looked quite sluggish at the back at times. The foul on Edozie looked really nasty, studs on top of his foot and then sliding off the pitch with the foot still on top of his. Might have been a red under VAR.
Frustrating to only take a single point in a game we dominated. Before kick off I was really concerned but the Norwich side had no plans to play football and kick lumps out of us! strange considering they are at home and I think actually a decent side.
I just peeked over at their forum and their fans aren’t happy with how they set up. They think they were overly defensive, (but would have been battered if they had been more positive). A few said we are the best side they’ve played this season. All of which feels fair. I was a bit disappointed in them as I thought they’d have more of a go, but it worked and got them a point. I thought we were very good again and it’s not a bad point all things considered. Once again, credit to Martin who can be proud of the job he is doing.
It's not a bad point, but I thought he got the subs wrong today - but happy to give him that one, as he doesn't often.
Yeah, but that was a forced sub through injury. I just thought it was screamingly obvious that Stu wasn't at full throttle, and the game was crying out for Charly (as I said a million times on this thread through the game!)
