Yeah, I am.in row 10 of the North Stand and could hear a few boos to my right - not very loud but noticeable. They should be ashamed of themselves.
Sky Highlights are here: https://www.skysports.com/football/sunderland-vs-preston-north-end/report/485012 Sunderland's Michael Beale: "The story of the game is a No 9 scores for Sunderland. He earned his goal and it has been difficult for him. "His wife and children aren't here. That must be hard for him, with everything going on back home at this time of the year. He's been here six months and he's on to his third coach, I am delighted for him. "You can transfer talent but someone has to be comfortable in an environment. We have to do a lot to help people settle and that goal will do him the world of good, to get a standing ovation too, what a way to start the year. Well done Naz."
Correct, doesn't mean you can't do it either. Feel like I'm the spokesperson for doylums...I don't agree with them either... but I'm sick of folk taking the higher ground that they dont deserve on here...
So you're entitled to say that but other people aren't, sorry I don't understand. No offence but you seem to be taking the high ground over people who boo and people who disagree with the booing ... ... to be fair to you, that's quite an achievement, condescending to everyone who isn't you
He came on when our players were half arsed running about doing nothing and pretty much joined in but because the fans have a bee in their bonnet with him he was boo’ed for doing the same as the others.
What use is boo-ing a young lad who’s going through a tough spell? As I mentioned earlier my season card is in the south but I was sat in the concourse today and I couldn’t have been happier. I was f*cking embarrassed hearing that stand sing about Newcastle all game and grumble at our own players. Coventry game I nearly launched the bloke 2 rows behind for screaming about Beale all game then cheering when our players wen off. Embarrassing man f*ck off.
If fans say others should **** off if they boo our 20 year old they deserve the higher ground over those who do it
Since the risk of getting a clip, for being a dickhead lessened, some people have become very outspoken and entitled ... ... cctv and stadium bans have allowed the pompous 'I have the right to say anything I like' brigade to puff their chests out knowing they can go whinging to a steward.
You're 100% right. My actual position is that folk who have paid for their seat, often for years, get to chant what they want...it might be completely wrong, and I dont agree with a lot of what is chanted, but they're entitled to do it. Where I get off is daft %%%%% saying they shouldn't be allowed in the ground. F""k all that nonsense! Thank goodness this board matters not at all.
Happy enough with that today. Professional and pragmatic approach to the 2nd half. Great to see Alese back and an "interesting" cameo from Pembele. Pleased for Rusyn and boy do we look a better side with Pritchard fit and firing
Yes I think you're completely wrong. We have the youngest team in the league and, in my experience, many of these lads will have family in the stadium praying they do well. Having self-entitled pricks insulting their son would be absolutely shameful and I'd want them banned from the stadium. I really find your attitude disgraceful tbh.
Ney bother, I honestly don't care what you think. You're totally wrong! The idea that 40k people should be considering what the mams and dads of the players might be thinking is hilarious! Might be some mags mams and dads in attendance on Saturday...I expect you'll be keeping your trap shut, aye?
The last time I saw this was Paul Mcshane waiting to come on, don't get me wrong he was ****, while he was warming up the bloke behind me says I wish the ginger ****er would just keep running till he's out the stadium, I did chuckle to myself. However he's then standing waiting to come on when the boos start ringing around the ground. The same bloke who'd made the comment then said ffs I know he's ****e but at the end of the day he's got a red and white shirt on. That sums it up for me, it doesn't matter how **** they are when they are wearing the shirt, get behind them especially when they havnt even kicked a ball yet. Then 2 minutes later he goes for a 50/50 header, misses the ball but leaves the other play flat out on the floor. Everyone in the stadium then decides to cheers
I am not opening old arguments here but there are all sorts of things that go into a player settling into a new club. For some players it takes a week, for others months, some never do. We have seen he is a good enough player in the odd game so far. But he has had the odd injury and as I have said before god knows what his family situation is back in Ukraine. Players arent robots, they have a life away from football, and to play well often they need to happy in that. I really hope this is a start for him, he played well and took his chance. But we might still need to patient at times and certainly not jump on a coaches back if he is not in the side. It isnt always footballing reasons lads dont play.
Mate seriously. I’m one for supporting the lad, but you appear completely blind to him. He was way worse than every other player at that point. To the point he had a nice easy pass, facing his own goal about 40 yards from it, and tried to beat his man and messed it up! Leading to a difficult time for the defence! I do like the lad, I think he has ability, but today he was the worst player on the pitch. For all that Clarke gave it away, he also set up a goal and looked dangerous. Ba didn’t. As I say, the idiots booing the lad should be kicked out and not come back.
Your opinion seems to be going down really well, keep it up, I’m sure the mods will get the bottle one day to f uck the likes of you off.
