It always seems that a player on a yellow is allowed to get away with several niggling fouls, that would probably have warranted a yellow card, if they hadn't already been booked. In short, refs are willing to admonish players, but are unwilling to send players off, even if they produce the same foul for their first yellow.

 

When in fact the yellow itself should be a final warning, so the next foul should see the dismissal
