The whole process was wrong, when have you ever seen offside images being put out like that 30 minutes after the event? Sima being offside turned out to be convenient, that coming out much later was them basically saying “ok we ****ed up first time but look at this”. They thought releasing the offside image would clear things up but it made things much worse.

Its easy for Celtic fans just to laugh all this off and say bad losers or whatever but these are pretty basic things. How games are being reffed and how var will be used affects every team, if they cant get the basics right then what chance of anything else?

 

We had a legitimate penalty disallowed and you're moaning to the sfa about which fantasy decision would have stood for 2 minutes before offside was given anyway?

In the past 3 meaningful OF games:

1. Celtic fan, Kevin Clancy harshly rules out a Morelos goal, VAR was Celtic fan Nick Walsh who deemed Clancy didn’t make a clear and obvious error. Rangers would’ve went 1-0 up.

2. Celtic fan, Don Robertson chalked off Kemar Roofe’s opening goal for a subjective call after Celtic defender was caught in possession. Rangers would’ve went 1-0 up.

3. Celtic fan, Nick Walsh is embroiled in multiple strange decisions, not helped by VAR, Celtic fan Willie Collum, where several clear application of the rules would’ve seen Celtic down to 8 men and 2 penalties awarded.

The continued agenda being played out in social media, that there’s a conspiracy against Celtic is just not played out in the real world, a world where Celtic enjoy preferential treatment from the refereeing fraternity and where they’ve won 5 trebles and a double in 7 seasons.

Why was the offside image even needed? If they believed in their process and that they got the right decision of no penalty why feel the need to show he was offside anyway? It had the feeling of someone trying to cover their arse, so relieved they had this offside image to show all of 30 minutes after the event.

It's very simple

Collum did not think it was an obvious error. The ball strikes Sima last and is given as a goal kick. Subsequently its shown that despite the Glasgow Times misunderstanding of the offside rule, Simon was offside. A goalkick was given when it should have been a free kick. Not a game changer.

So if Collum thinks thats not an obvious error then thats end of discussion, both him and Walsh have agreed, so why is the offside even brought up? They have already decided its not a penalty, why is further proof needed? Nothing like that has ever happened before, I mean var has been in use down in England for 3-4 years now? I’ve never once seen them come to a decision and then 30 minutes later come up with more evidence of why their decision was correct.

This is why it would be nice to see/hear the process, understand what Collum was communicating and why the offside seemed important enough to get out there 30 minutes later.

 

It came up because of moaning. The moaning about conspiracy because it wasn't given as a penalty. Clearly the non handball and subsequent goal kick should have seen the game halted and retaken as an official free kick from around the same area because its such a game changing event
