I do feel a little sorry for Ipswich here. They could well end up a sitting duck, while us, Leeds and Leicester flex our financial muscles.
Cue Ipswich to break all Championship spending records, whilst we get a couple of unknowns on loan from League Two....
The only way I’d feel sorry for Ipswich regarding financial flexing is if all their best players were taken. Especially if this is by the three relegated sides. But I don’t think that is going to happen
I'll save my sympathies for the end of the season. Also, Ipswich's owners are very, very wealthy. Wiped100m worth of debt when they bought the club, and have provided plenty of funds for transfers to date.
"SAINTS are one of several clubs interested in Liverpool attacker Fábio Carvalho, according to a recent report. Liverpool recalled Carvalho from his loan at German outfit RB Leipzig early, having only made 15 appearances in all competitions. The Reds are reportedly planning to loan the young attacker out once more and would like game-time assurances as part of the former Fulham man's plans. Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Southampton are one of several clubs hoping to land the 21 year old."
So if we cancel Holgate loan does that mean we have 2 loan spots? Or is it 5 long term in total and Holgate would still count?
I'd assume we get the loan slot open again. Because Everton are recalling him, so it's not our decision.
Yeah that’s what I would’ve thought but not sure on the rules. I’d imagine we will only use one loan slot on a winger so only one of the names mentioned. Think I’d rather Diallo out of them Hard to use the other loan slot on a centre back to replace Holgate, unless we can find one that will start ahead of our current options
I really dislike them as a club these days. Petulant arses about Tella, a fairly nasty element to their fanbase and...well...yeah. I like Kompany, but in Burnley's case I'd rather go alone.
The transfer window opened in England on Monday 1 January and lasts until the winter transfer deadline for clubs here and in all major European leagues on Thursday 1 February 2024. In England, the window will close at 11pm (UK time). No sign of anyone yet, we have always left it late.
