Down my local with Marge around 9 for a couple of hours.
Then back home to see New Year in and FaceTime my daughters, much to their annoyance <laugh><laugh>.

Watch the Hootenanny before hitting the sack, half pished!!

Up to Buck’s Fizz (proper) then get ready to watch the lads on SKY.

Then down to the local again for a couple of hours, before heading home to Steak Pie and all the trimmings (Scottish Tradition), washed down with a good red wine & port.

    Recover Tuesday <laugh><laugh><laugh>

In Scarborough with work and sitting in pub now for a few drinks on my lonesome, don't mind though as only £2.20 a pint. Gonna have 4 or 5 then get some scran and back to my hotel room bright and bushy eyed ready for match in same pub tomorrow

Always a party somewhere in the family when I was young, but first I had to stay at home with a miserable 50+ dad who rarely drank, then became a trusted babysitter for my older siblings' children.

Had some great parties once I got my own house, people getting lost whilst walking a ¼ mile home and not resurfacing until the evening of NYD.

These days there is just too much distance involved and too much family in-fighting so we usually have a few nibbles and a film then spend the last part of NYE up on the Halkyn moor to watch the fireworks going off everywhere from Deeside, Wirral, Liverpool, right across the North West and around to Chester.

Tonight it is hammering down and blowing a gale so we're having a few drinks and playing games till watching Big Ben and then we'll be off to bed ready for the match tomorrow.

    Happy New Year folks!

    Happy New Year mate.

I suspect many of us are more excited about the match than the night before ...

... whatever the case I hope everyone has a good night and the best 2024 they can hope for.

Family round tonight. Picky tea, then I make proper chips for everyone at 10. Watch fireworks and bed. Not really a boozy night here. Then up we get, early doors, and head to Thorpe Cloud for a good walk. Back for the match tomorrow.

Happy New Year folk, and all the best.
