Diving into the transfer market must be a difficult road to make for clubs like us whereby the owner is unwilling to flash the cash and our history in this department is less than stellar. Many times I have questioned as to why we have signed what look like decent players only to see them vanish into thin air for some peculiar reason after a season or so. This young guy Twine could end up being a diamond in the rough but also he could end up as yet another wannabe for the scrap heap and that would not be beneficial for either party. I suppose you pay your money and take your choice but more like we already have would not be progression in my eyes but we know we are never going to sign that key final ingredient(s) to make us the team we want to be.

The Jan window is particularly difficult to get a striker in. If they’re playing well at their club, then it will usually take a hefty fee to snare them. After that, you’re looking at players not in the frame at their current clubs, and that is very hit and miss, which for us has been more misses than hits; Adenogla, Diony, Cornick as examples of where we have gone wrong. A hungry youngster on loan from a Prem club is probably a safer, if not more expensive bet, which is why being at least top 10
In the Championship come Jan is imperative.

Yes, it was, but then again Ollie Watkins and I few others started there as well. But it won’t happen anyway probably as he will have more suitors than us.
I can’t see Burnley wanting him gone. They loaned him out was because of his injury last season when they got him and wanted him to catch up on his jump up the leagues. It’s looking more and more likely that he can catch up with Burnley themselves next season.

    Looked decent against us.
Leave it to LM, if he wants him after working with him, might be a good bet.

Do we need a striker, or better attacking midfield options to create more chances, or both? Neither will be easy, or cheap to find in a Jan window, maybe a punt on a young promising loanee from a top club??
It’s clear scoring goals is our achilles heel this season. Only 6 teams have scored less than us, while on the other hand, our defence has improved significantly, as only 3 teams (all in the top 5) have conceded less than us.

    100% require a top no9 priority.

sorry wells and Weimann are finished in my opinion.
Neither can change a game both have lost their pace and mojos.

I would spend big for a top quality nine.

He needs to be signing a Striker please Mr L and Mr M

St Patrick’s Athletic star Adam Murphy set for transfer move to Bristol City as they chase promotion to Premier League

BRISTOL CITY have succeeded in their bid to sign Adam Murphy from St Pat’s at the second time of asking.

Murphy was on the verge of moving to Bristol City in the summer but ultimately stayed with the Inchicore outfit until the end of the season.
The Saints were in discussions with the teenager about a new contract but have been informed that he will be leaving when the transfer window opens.

It had been reported in England that the Robins had reignited their interest in the midfielder and SunSport can confirm he will be moving to Ashton Gate.

Crystal Palace, Brighton & Hove Albion, Southampton and Derby County had also been keeping the tabs on him.

That is in spite of the fact Liam Manning has replaced Nigel Pearson as manager since their initial interest. Pearson’s no 2 was ex-St Pat’s favourite Curtis Fleming who followed him out of the club once Manning was appointed.

Ipswich lose "2" strikers in same week, although the on loan one not played a lot odd sub appearance and not scored [ Scarlett from Spurs ]
Prem clubs will know squad situations now and any "potential" go out loan players will likely find homes with a call back clause.

As much as they think is required to fill the hole.

This will determine if we can get a playoff spot.

There are several players currently on our books who in my opinion have passed their best before dates and those would be Wells, Weimann and Cornick. Their individual contributions that they have made this season are at an unacceptable level and they need to be moved on to newer pastures. The biggest problem is who can replace them and only players with better chances of success need to be considered but where the heck do we find them? On that front we have to rely on whatever scouting system we have in place and as long as it isn't a bot like before then maybe we can find a diamond in the rough, just like every other team regrettably. All in all I reckon we need extra help in 3 areas and that is goalkeeping, midfield and centre forward which surely isn't too much to ask - lol. The change in team dynamics is slowly becoming obvious under Liam and I hope the same commitment to improvement is still around Ashton Gate during the upcoming transfer window. Looking forward to seeing what, if anything, we do to take our team forward to a better more productive season than in previous seasons.

if they could bring three in and move Cornick-Weimann -wells -Williams I would say it is defiantly possible.
Just have to wait and see.

They aren’t going to do that in January are they?, we may get a couple of additions that’ll be it.
