I thought tonight was poor but, tbh, four away points and three against Preston would be a decent end to the year.
Agreed. Last 4 performances have been really poor (at least compared to the WBA/Leeds games) but a win on Monday would be a great end
It's fair to say Beale hasn't had enough time to make his mark so judgments should be left pending. I get the impression, based on not much beyond my own imagination, that he's currently taking on board a lot of feedback from Dodds and probably Speakman too, and is trying to balance getting to grips with the squad and playing who he likes with respecting what he's being told by people who 'know better'. Whatever the situation is the bloke needs time to do his job.
I’m not sure it’s just Beale that needs the locker. We need quality up top, a 9 who is a goal threat. The club have to find us a new year gift asap so we are less imbalanced.
We signed Jobe Dack and Aouchiche. Not convinced in him on the right at all but he has something. Definitely looks like a player not sure of his position. Jobe looked better deeper but then we have 3 8’s. We need better balance. It’s a bit moneyball rather than the right fit it seems.
I am just stating what he said in interview. I am not making assumptions on what he might say on the bus, that would be trying to spin a narrative.
Performances have been poor and I know you think it's hard for the new man to make an impact but we look worse imo. Speakman has been in the media all week with ' the vest coaching I have seen' statements. Not sure what it is but we look far slower and worse under Beale.
Well my thoughts after a sleep are just as confused. Where has the high tempo quick passing and movement gone? I don't accept that was all down to having Amad in the team. Is it confidence? Is it coaching?
If you say that to KS he will get you chucked off this forum, well it got TM the sack. Burstow was the grass btw.
Beale mightn’t be a most fans choice but he isn’t stupid, his after match comments were basically correct for me so he sees what’s needed.
Not read this thread, never do when the result isn't what we all want however this is my twopence worth. Anybody can beat anybody in this league, Rotherham being bottom doesn't mean we have a right to expect to go there and win handsomely. Their place has never been a happy hunting ground for us so imo a point away from home at the end of a crazy December schedule isn't to be sniffed at. This schedule is costing in with injuries, Huggins, Dack and now Roberts isn't ideal, more pressure for our young squad. Next the manager...he hasn't had much time to put his ideas across, he's probably being reliant on Dodds who many wrote off after his last stint as stand in manager but we've managed to beat three of the top six since Tone left, lost at Bristol who are on a good run themselves having won the last 3 or 4 games on the bounce and came from behind after conceding a goal that guy will never score again. Some of our fans have expectations way above that we should expect from this young team, please just give Beale the time to give it a decent go. 3 points on Monday would be very nice thank you.
We can all see what’s needed to be fair but yeah I agree he spoke well after the game no point having the ball if we’re doing **** all with it, hopefully some time on the training pitch will see some positive changes
Are you suggesting Burstow went running to Speakman telling him TM wanted a striker and that's why he was sacked? Burstow, the 18 year old on loan from Chelsea has that much sway in the dressing room?
Some of these players have had five different 'managers' to listen to if you count Dodds. This current drop in form and intensity might be something as mundane Beale allowing everyone to take stock and keep calm. It's always exciting to see an Allardyce or di Canio come in, all guns blazing, and change everything ... ... but it's a risky strategy and rarely keeps up any momentum. My hope is that Beale is trying to keep things calm while he assesses the squad and imposes his style on our play.
Have to hope but so far it's definitely slower, less press and continuously playing it out wide. It's very similar to how he set rangers up over a longer period TBF
