I've run out of Christmas cheer and goodwill to all men so here goes. The Chairboys travel to East Londonistain to take on the O's at Brisbane Road without a league win for as long as I can remember, our hosts are having an ok season on their return to League One and beat near neighbours Charlton on Boxing Day. It doesn't matter what team Bloomfield put out they will play like they have just met. I maybe taking this on in via Wanderers TV expecting one nil to the O's
Leahy at the back in a 5 with Sadlier wing back. I think. Leahy is not a defender. I really don’t get the tactics, everything is going long to Taylor against 2 giants. He hasn’t won a thing. It’s so depressing.
Actually Sadlier seems very high for a wing back, maybe Leahy is full back. Anyway all this passing it back to Max to pump it long is t working.
Is that because Max's long balls are inaccurate or that our strikers aren't taking advantage. These long balls should be into spaces with our strikers running onto them, preferably behind the defence
Oh god, there is no space, the balls are so high, their massive centre backs are having an easy time, if we do this tactic then we need Vokes, Taylor should be played if we play it on the floor.
Will try a quick summary before 2nd half starts Max - nothing to do, but always kicks it long rather than play out Grimmer - solid, always passes backwards or hoofs down the line Low - solid Taf - solid Leahy - caught out a few times, looks a liability Scowen - best player, does what he does Potts - hardly seen him Phillips - can’t get on the ball McCleary - always has to try and win the ball in the air Sadlier - best player a few decent runs Taylor - I feel for him, no chance winning a high ball, still trying.
Oh dear. These long balls should only be played when the opposition are high up the field not into their welcoming "arms" (onto their welcoming heads)
My opinion first half very even first 15 of the second orient on top we need to get a grip of the game
