The U.N. is a waste of space.

I've long said that the permanent membership should be abolished if we truly believe in democracy.

But I'll caveat that by saying if it was, and things were voted upon equally, the rest of the countries would need to have the balls to take action under the name of the U.N. when things didn't suit the likes of the U.S., UK, China and Russia. Would they? Would they fck.

 

In that sense we've established a world order post WW2 which is ingrained and almost impossible to get out of and becomes more and more unlikely the longer it goes on.

Let's hope this UN resolution is worth more than the paper it's written on and the massacring ends. And when I say ends, no doubt the acts of terrorism by both sides elsewhere won't but what's happening in Gaza needs to.

 

So we've gone from a UN Resolution that called for an immediate ceasefire which was binned off by the U.S. 2 weeks ago, to a UN Resolution which doesn't call for any cessation of violence and instead calls for all the hostages to be released immediately, which has been approved.
