Time is a luxury Man Utd managers don't have. Tis claimed that their sponsor income drops seriously for any season they do not qualify for the CL etc. As they were the recent empire they still have a serious cash buffer, but food for thought regardless.
Mainoo’s looked really decent so far, more than held his own, great name for a Man Utd player too . I hope we take a leaf out of your guy’s book and start giving some of our own game time though, got a few very decent academy players that just aren’t getting a sniff whilst the dross of the squad continue to get chances. It’s one of the few grievances I’ve had with Ange so far, followed in the footsteps of Conte in that regard. It’s as if they’re afraid of taking the risk on youth, despite the fact I’d say it’s a bigger risk in playing Dier or Emerson.
The more I watch Nicolas Jackson, the more I get annoyed at how we allowed him to score a hattrick against us. He is dreadful. Truly, truly dreadful. And of course he scores right on cue . Maybe not, VAR rightly calls it offside.
Did anyone see the City penalty this evening? Looked very harsh on Onana, as his arm is in a pretty natural position but also directly in front of his face, so had his arm not been there, he would've blocked the shot either way. More disturbing is the fact that the referee only pointed to the spot after the entire City team had surrounded him, baying for a penalty.
His arm is up, but it's not away from his body and he's going down. It's harsh. The ref's clearly taking instructions from somewhere before he gives it, too. I don't know if it's his linesman, as you can't really see him properly.
The commentary said it was the linesman... The Laws need to be changed. Handling the ball accidentally should be an indirect free kick.
West Ham fans singing to Rice “you should’ve signed for a big club!” and seconds later he gives away a penalty
Raya saves, but I'm sure he's moved off his line way, way early. Doesn't matter, though. Perhaps Moyes should've picked an actual team at Anfield? Edit: I was wrong. Had one foot on the line. Good call.
His two worst performances this season were against West Ham (although at least in the League Cup he only played for about 25 minutes and we were already 3-0 down). We haven't beaten them in the last 3 games. All of a sudden, they've become a bit of a bogey side for us. I think we also saw his limitations against a team that defend in a low block. We're still very unbalanced in midfield. Haven't replaced Xhaka properly. Arteta playing Trossard there was ridiculous because, he's not a no.8, and every time he's played there for us previously, he's been awful. Frustrating that he won't trust Smith-Rowe when Smith-Rowe was one of the players who rescued him from the precipice of being sacked a few years ago. Not only that, but he's one of the very few players we have who is comfortable in attacking through central areas and driving through the middle of the pitch.
It can't be long before Gary Nev takes Saka for a round of golf and tells him he has to move on to be successful
I do wonder which of their players is going to get tapped-up first Either of the Gabriels would be my bet - though Prison FC may still be looking at Partey...
