You only have to look at the way the Brighton players threw themselves at Son’s shot to see how much more up for this than we are.
I still think he’ll become a very good player in time but he’s been borderline dreadful in a number of games. Needs to be more confident, improve decision making and also not shy out of 50-50s.
We could/ should be 5 down... easily the worst performance of the season. Completely out played, out run, out thought and out fought. Other than Vicario and Davies the team have been very very poor
then if that’s the case, we need to play to his strengths. I mean, you can tell he’s no slouch, but we need to find a way to get him tearing down the wing like walker used to.
Starting the season with two centre-halves and one left back that could play the system was stupid. I don't see us suitably addressing that during January, unfortunately.
Patchwork back 4 and midfield is showing, we just can’t make it stick. That and some poor decision making and execution in the final 3rd. I’m not sure how much Ange can or will change personnel wise so we need a big half time team talk to turn this around.
As stupid as Kulu getting one for kicking the ball away last match, though I’ll note a Brighton player did it far worse a few minutes ago and nothing came of it.
but it’s been obvious since the summer, and has been a glaring issue since our injuries started months ago. These issues should be looked into from Sept-Dec, ready for the reinforcements to join in January. I don’t buy this “January is difficult to do deals” narrative. We have people at the club who are paid 365 days a year to perform in the transfer windows, and have months of downtime to find solutions to the problems.
Been watching Son for the past few minutes and he's coasting. Failed to track back and then a half-assed effort to keep possession. Not good enough as a Captain in this situation.
Vicario to the rescue again. Porro’s been alongside Emerson for too long that he’s becoming brain dead because of it.
