Agree, technically not the best. Probably why he’s only done a season or so in the Championship. However, for what we need, I’m happy with this.

    Would also like Blackett-Taylor! :emoticon-0148-yes:

I really hope we're after better than Mendez-Laing.

Oh and some of the reactionary **** I've read on here and on twitter is laughable

There probably has been an enquiry but as with most rumours at this stage it’s probably agents drumming up interest

same with the Twine rumours. Twine maybe wants a permanent move as he’s realising he may not be in Burnley’s long term plans so agent is drumming up interest

Could probably sign someone better from the Humber Prem.

We're doing fine and having a really good season. Some things go your way, others don't. We've got holes but it's not anything we didn't already know.

Top 10 was the aim, we're well on course and we're in with a great shout of a top 6 place too.

Fans - We’ve got a team full of promising youngster's, what we need is some experience and nous.

Also fans - He’s over thirty, why are we looking at signing him?

Respectfully I think they mean experience at championship level of which he has less then Greaves, Jones, Slater and so on

Firstly, that’s not what he said and secondly, he has 96 Championship appearances and 20 Premier League appearances (which is more than Jones and Slater).

I think 31 used to be an age (maybe 20 years ago) where a player might be considered past it. I think with modern sports science, this age has increased by a good few years. Obviously every player is different, but say perhaps 31 is the new 29. <party>

Signing 30-year-old+ players from the league below is scraping the barrel, yes.

Christie was signed after being released by Fulham in the league above us. He also was on loan at Swansea the season before.

31-year-old Mendez-Laing from League 1 Derby would be the most Allam signing ever.

    Sorry should have been clearer
Meant his age and current loss of mobility , maybe his last lay off has knocked him beyond maturity at this level to , not quite quick enough’
Mind you right side of the centre backs he might do a job ( not full back ) !!

They're clearly trying to get a bit of experience in on a budget.

Let's see who actually signs - or God forbid even see them play before we write them off eh?
