The only place I've ever had an earful for crossing at a green pedestrian crossing, walking to the ground back in August. Odd place
It's not about who plays actually best on the pitch though, it's about which players look most normal on a written down formation. Twine on the wing looks awkward when written in the lineup so it's very important that we move everything around to change that. Obviously none of that is as important as Slater at left back though, which may have worked perfectly well but that's not the point.
Coming up 55 years for me,though attendance is starting to become far more sporadic. But yes, you've got a point there!! Hopefully we can put a few past them and get yesterday's result out of our hair...
Did anybody else think Delap looked a bit more gung-ho than usual yesterday? You know, head down trying to beat 5 men at once? I thought he looked a bit like a bloke who might be getting frustrated at being tied down by the way Rosey wants his team to play. I just wish for once he (Rosey) would let the team express itself a bit more, take the shackles off. I'm sure we've got a bit more to offer than we've been seeing of late.
If he keeps going the way he currently is,he's going to cost a lot of money, the kind of money that may price him out of our reach.
He doesn't look up. A plundering, full on attack mode is his default. Sometimes it works but his decision making is no better that Philogene's and it's an identified issue for him. It's a lack of experience because I think it'll come with Liam. I think he's going to become a fantastic player. Out of our league unfortunately.
No, that can't be right. The only reason these young players queue up to come here is to play the attractive style of possession football the manager has successfully used at another club. It has absolutely nothing to do with wages on offer or having your natural skills stifled.
Not quite. We live in a little village between Blackburn and Oswaldtwistle. Blackburn isn’t all that but surrounding countryside is pretty picturesque and there’s so much within easy reach. Dales only 40 minutes, Lakes in an hour, Manchester and the airport 45 minutes. Yorkshire border is about 30 minutes.
I think he is frustrated.... Last minute against Bristol City, bust a gut to get to the bi-line, crossed only for Traore to hook it wide. He laid on the floor and beat it in frustration.
Delap is a fantastic player and I’d love to sign him. But he’s not beyond us and he’s not quite the standard everyone thinks he is. His decision making in-front of goal Is fairly average, first touch in the box isn’t great and his heading is also average. He’s obviously a huge talent and would be an exciting signing and all these things can be improved, I love his lung busting runs and strength etc. Just think we are going slightly overboard. We need a winger like Roberts last night as a foil for Philogene, someone direct runs at his man straight away. Possibly the sort of layer Rosie won’t want to sign moving Delap up top and Twine into number 10.
Hull fans seem to really build up youngsters way to much and way to quick, just look at harry Vaughan last season as a perfect example.... Delap has huge amounts of potential and shows all the basic ingredients to be a fantastic player and I hope we sign him on a permanent. But ATM he's not a top championship striker. He's a young raw lad learning ( quickly ) his trade. I think Billy Sharp coming in will help him, he's had a great up bringing at man city and will have watched and learned from some of the very best, but as daft as it may sound, sharp will give him lessons that none of the players at city can
Hull fans by the same token can do the opposite also. If we win a couple we're gonna get promoted, if we lose a couple we're ****, if a youngster has a good game he's the next Bowen, if he goes on loan to develop then he's a waste of money etc. This board is a shining example of the bi-polarity of our fan base. It's also why crowds fluctuate so much between the good times and the bad and have been inconsistent throughout our history. I went to see Gateshead Vs York yesterday and it was really refreshing just to enjoy a game without over reactions one way or another. Young Chadwick played well for Gateshead. Unfortunately Olley was injured as were Green and Batts for York. But there's was none of this handwringing and naval gazing that you get on here despite a disappointing result considering the performance. Just a real sense that if they keep progressing as they have over the last couple of years in the next couple there's a real chance they could get back in the EFL. Similar situation and style of play to city, albeit 4 divisions lower. Like I Say. Refreshing.
That's true. He teed it up for Connolly, with acres of space and time to smash it in the back of the net from five yards, then saw him hit a shot that belies believe. It hardly reached their keeper. Delap should have hit it myself. A complete and utter waste of a pass. I think I would have gone ape **** if I had laid on that chance for such a useless end result.
