Saw in the Sun this morning, that Vito had said to Wenger, 'play me or sell me', then later on there was a quote saying that he'd like to go out on loan and then make it permanent. Anyone think he might be a decent keeper to have, Gulacsi is awful(75% of the time) and Basso although a decent keeper, is getting on a bit?

Definitely! Him or Guzan back please.

Coincidentally i've just been looking over guzan's twitter (bguzan) and he's RT'd a few tweets from city fans (ok that means nothing).

But i know personally that he thoroughly enjoyed his time here and wouldn't be against coming back. Not to mention his contract is up at the end of the season and if i'm not mistaken his only battle at Villa is with Andy Marshall to sit on the bench!

Barmby will know him from when he was here so it could happen!

I'd love to have Vito back, he has been by far my favourite keeper in a Hull shirt.

People always mention his injury-proneness but wasn't it just that NP risked him because he was our only good keeper, and it was a recurrence of the same shoulder injury?
I'm not aware of any other injuries he's had, if there even are any.

Basso has been great for us this season, a real good find but age isn't on his side and we've all had hearts in out mouths when he's injured. Gulasci looks like a rabbit caught in the headlights at times, he must be good enough to be on Liverpool's books but maybe a move away from England would suit him better. Mannone was great for us last season, had he not got injured we may have picked up more points than we ended up with and Guzan isn't a bad replacement either.

I do rate Mannone but he is too good to sit on our bench, and I rate Basso as well, so bit of a conundrum, we need a goal keeping coach to sort that out.

Guzan was good too, only problem though is that his visa runs out when his contract does - I don't have a clue about any of that stuff though!

There's no way we can buy/loan Vito then leave him on our bench. There's also no way we can drop Basso after the consistently good performances he put in this season. I'd love to see us sign him, however at this moment in time I can't see how any move to buy Vito could work out.

BRAD GUZAN.......will struggle to get a new Work Permit after this season He has tweeted. So maybe a No No now.

VITO MANNONE.....thought he was class last season Until the Middlesboro home game in april when he showed his Italian mood swings. He lost interest and did not want to go on. is he a Fair weather GK ? if so then No thanks. But
if his attitide is correct then YES, he would be perfect along with BASSO. Over to Nicky on this one. He will know and better than we do.

I think we might seem new keeper coming in. NB isn't a big fan of Basso, shown by the fact he chose Gulasci over him on Sat (Basso was fit to start).

I can't see why anyone wouldn't be a fan of Basso, he's been pretty much faultless this season.

He's definitely better than Guzan and probably on a par with Mannone.

He certainly proved himself to be a number 1 during hisloan spell last season. So yeah why not - it would be worth another try

Basso's been great, but tendonitis doesn't go away and his contract only runs until the end of this season. I wouldn't say he's been far better than Guzan and i can't think of much reason to say Mannone was that much better either, they were both top keepers at this level (as is Basso) but they both have age on their side too.

Both are potentially available and both enjoyed their stays at the club before so with next season in mind (and Basso's knees) it would be foolish not to try and get one of them in.

Before anyone mentions any mistake made by either Guzan or Mannone just remember that all keepers do it and Basso's no exception (Barnsley away).

Not my words, I'm only informing what NB thinks, and he isn't a fan.

This might be a bit left field, but, taking into account the clubs latest mission statement how about a look at Paul Robinson. He's a local lad who can't have much longer on his contract at Blackburn, even more so if they go down?

    Lol - I wish :emoticon-0103-cool:

I can assure you they are the words from NB's mouth. As I said before when I posted info (Wigley as AM and Stewart starting last Sat), I don't care if people want to believe me, I'm just sharing true info what I think others will want to know. Time will tell if what I post is correct or not.

NB isn't a fan of Basso, surely the fact he picked Gulasci instead of him at Derby shows that?

Maybe NB see's promise in him, and feels he just needs games to get his confidence up.

Maybe you are right, Nige maybe has a better line into Arsenal than us, but we have a better line through Warren Joyce to Man U.
