Russell Martin just made that same point, this year, as you say they are a weapon versus what we've had for a while, filling the gaps left by tired players.

The buzz has returned to SMS after a few years of mediocrity and it's so good to experience it again. People are saying that Russball will get destroyed in the PL but I'll wait and see if and until it happens, we would've beaten a few teams in the top league playing like that today.

Yeah this is great, mainly because our subs bench would walk into basically every other teams starting 11s and coming on against tiring legs should be very impactful.

But doing a good job of keeping them all happy with rotating minutes and keeping them fresh

That was easily the best we've passed the ball this season. Martin's style was bang on it.

It was also probably our best performance full stop. The goals, the domination, the constant threat.

I only have one tiny negative, and it's the same one I had after the Blackburn win: please stop moving KWP away from RB. Whether he's playing LB or RW, he just isn't the same as compared to RB. When we moved him back there after 70 mins, our already dominant performance went up an even higher gear.

Just got back and after a slow start I thought we were superb. Fair play to Swansea they didn't sit back like Blackburn and could easily have taken the lead but they really tired in the second half and Martin was ruthless in utilising his bench. I thought he got it spot on today. He mixed it up his team selection at the start, made the correct subs at the right time and changing it back to a 4-3-3 caused us to rack up the goals. Edozie MOTM, Fraser is a huge asset off the bench. KWP showed why he is arguably the best player in the Championship.

Wow just seen we only had 11 shots. Normally, we have about 20 shots while only scoring once. 5 goals from 11 shots is an impressive conversion rate!

Missed the whole game, last I heard on the radio was Edozie getting our second, so it sounds like a great second half performance again. I am beginning to absolutely love this particular brand of Saints FC.

In other news, this is looking good:

At long last we have hit that magic 2 points per game standard. Just need to keep building on this current brilliant form.

Great game, shame that the guy in front of me had a go at me, followed by the woman he was with getting in my face as they were leaving the game.

On to the game. I don’t feel the Stephens KWP experiment worked. Lacked a bit of balance.

All the subs were spot on though. All with a great impact.

I don't know if RB is his natural position or not (for his own sake I hope it isn't), but Humphreys will hope that no-one from Chelsea was watching that game. He's a hell of a long way from their first team. Edozie had him on toast, over and over again. Personally I don't think there's anything better in football to watch than a winger tearing up their opposing FB.

He's a CB. That would explain why he was getting torn apart.

Good to know Stephens can do a job at RB if necessary though.
