Our recent run of form has got me thinking about Pardew, and made me wonder if any manager has gone from being so hated to so loved in such a short time? Whilst innumerable bosses have gone in the other direction, none come instantly to mind when going from Zero to Hero.

Ok, maybe hatred was a bit strong but there was a massive underwhelming feeling and disappointment to his appointment, and for the first few weeks there was quite a reasonable dislike for the guy at least.

I'd definitely say underwhelmed and eyebrow raised yeah. I can't think of a manager who has proven so many doubters wrong before though, you're correct - I don't think there was anybody besides Pardew himself who thought he could do a good job when he first arrived. What a lad though, round of applause to Pardew.

The bad feeling was more to do with the way CH was treat rather than Pardew coming in.

Well, let's say Alan wasn't widely enthusiastically welcomed but he did fill the vacant (still warm) seat left by a very well respected and liked predecessor. I cannot say I was overjoyed at the news of the dismissal and subsequent appointment yet I do like him now and the way hr goes about his business.

Criticisms about his constant press chatter, sound bites and feedback are a bit unfair really; it's a whole lot better than the usual Prem manager arrogance, BS and inane bollocks and better than nothing at all!

I'll hold my hands up and say I was gutted at Pardew's appointment, mainly because I loved Hughton though, experience wise Pardew was the better choice but his track record was absolute garbage overall before he came here.

So far he has proven me and most others dead wrong and long may it continue!

I admit I hated Pardew, I thought he was going to see us to relegation after we lost Hughton, but you have to give him enormous credit as it's been a phenomenal turnaround in fortunes.

I must say the first thing I was saying to people when I found out was that we were on our way down or we would be close.

  10. I really do think Pardew is riding his luck, though. If he's honest, he will tell you that he's as surprised as anyone that you have had such a superb start to this season.

If you now only take 3 or 4 points from your next 8 or 9 games, I'm betting that you fans will be getting on his back, though.

We've been lucky at times but theres nothing lucky about the team unity we have at the moment, the players are loving it at the moment and are playing for the shirt, which a lot of them have came out and said that Pardew has contributed to.

The marked improvement in our defence certainly isn't luck, even against City apart from Ryan Taylor we nullified them for the majority of the game, it took them two penalties to win the game, both were definite penalties mind, but you get my point.

The only way we're going to stagnate badly is if we lose four or five of our key players, particularly Demba Ba, then we might slip a bit.

Having said that I think we'll get a point at old trafford and maybe even pull off a cheeky win at home to Chelsea, and if we can I think we're on for a cracking season and I think we'll be pushing all the way for that Europa spot.

If we had an owner with more ambition we could really push on for even more than that if we spent on some new players in January, however we wont.

I think Pardew has kept the team spirit that was established under Hughton but made us organised and hard to beat as well. Will he keep this up? Who knows, let's just enjoy it!

Never really hated Pardew, was just angry that CH had been given the boot and failed to see how Pardew was any better.

Exactly, I don't know any fan who ''hated'' Pardew. It was how is appointment came about that upset fans. There was questions about his style and experience and he's seems to have answered those questions so far.
