I agree with you, that’s why I said yet. They might all come good. But right now, even the ones clearly signed to have an impact at first team level, aren’t
But how can they even be judged as not making an impact when they get dropped for no reason and get benched for players who do nothing. If I was Rusyn i'd be away in January, his former team just played in Europe yet he can't get a minute over midfielders here even though he put in fairly good performances when he is actually played. No wonder Jewi feels like he's being mistreated when he has more goal contributions than Roberts yet only plays for the u21s.
The brothers Jobe and Jude look like each other. Can we sneak Jude into the side if he puts Jobe’s shirt on. Nobody would be able to tell the difference…..would they?
I think you’re misunderstanding me as I agree with you. Im not “judging” them for making no impact, but they’re making no impact. That’s not their fault. As you say, they’re not being selected, or being dropped in and out of the team. I completely agree with what you’re saying about how happy they must be.
My enthusiasm for this game just dropped a few notches. Seriously disappointed with the lineup after Saturday's performance and Beale doing the square root of **** all to even give his doubters a glimmer of hope.
it’s a properly shocking one isn’t it. Beale has managed to seemingly change nothing whilst also making a completely unexpected change
I feel sorry for Beale if the reactiom to his team is anything to go by. The club arsed about for 2 weeks after sacking Mowbray and then eventually gave Beale the job on the cusp of the busiest fixture period in the season. The amount of genuine training time he will have currently is very limited due to game and recovery days. He will be hard pushed to pick players he hasnt seen much of based on that and will have to take a massive steer from Dodds and Proctor. Those two clearly dont think much of the centre forwards at the club. Dack coming in makes sense to Beale because he has a championship pedigree and he likely trusts him to implement a specific role and tactic because of that. My only real criticism is Ekwah starting but unless Jobe is going to drop in who else plays there? Most would agree I think the summer signings arent really up to muster yet and in a tough away game it may well be better to keep as much experience as possible in the side. I get the impression Beale couls have made 4 changes today and some would have found a reason to find fault. I quite fancy us actually. Saw enough against Cov to know we still create chances in the box. If players stop panicking in the box we have a chance imo of goals.
I’m pleased you’re calm about this. It’s reassuring in a way. (Don’t mean this to be patronising, I’m serious)
I think Dack offers genuine goal threat. He knows how to score goals so I can understand his selection. Not really sure what other changes the manager could make. Other than potentially Rusyn but the last time he started he was rubbish.
I think it’s fair to say Dack scores the goal that Ba missed last week and if that had happened I doubt we’d have gone on to concede 3. Different game. So that’s my one shining glimmer of hope.
I get the lack of time to make heads and tails of the squad and why Dack may be in there but it’s the lack of striker and the exact same tactics as before in the last game…without any attempt to change it. Surely he can bring some ideas to the table? Last game you could see the tactics and team wasn’t working in the first half, so why not put a striker on early and have a look at them? It was a perfect opportunity to do that but they waited until 0-3 when the players confidence is completely shot. The jury is definitely still out for me but to say I’ve not been impressed so far is a massive understatement.
Honestly think he has to be cut loads of slack right now and the board will do so. It is a tough time to come in and assess players for the reasons I have outlined. I suspect if he picks Mayenda or Rusyn it is a punt in his mind as he doesnt know enough about them and those that do cant be begging for them to play. The fella will have a view on Hull and how he wants to play and I reckon he sees Dack as someone to understand some really specific instructions. I quite like Dack too, his movement in the box is probably the best we have at the club. Time will tell. If we lose it will be carnage no doubt. If we win some will find a way to convince themselves it changes nothing re Beale in my opinion.
