I think we need 09 for now hopefully until Jan 1st in the anchor role and add Seelt into the back 4 presuming we’ll have a l ft back fit to play of course. If not it has to be a 3

Was talking after the match that it seemed like one of our off days, there's been a few recently, need to get back to winning ways quickly.

It’s not a justification, but I thought he knew he was done for pace so “took one fir the team”, but unfortunately there was a man on the overlap with nobody within 40 yards of him. Easy to say wrong decision with hindsight. But he won’t know that lad is streaming down the wing on his own. Agree he’s partially responsible. But the abuse he gets fir his mistakes compared to those of Patterson etc are tenfold for some reason.

Fully agree he gets it too harsh at times mate, but that’s levelled out by the blind defence.

He is far from the worst culprit I agree.

He’s 19! Another one of those players I hate hearing people call.

As a youngster, you don’t need “Ba, your ****ing useless you **** ****”. Literally the words used towards him from the north stand yesterday.
He has ability, undoubtedly, but he needs to hone it. As a 19 year old lad, he has time to do that. Maybe some fans need to remember this

It's easy to forget we have very young players cause they all are so young.

Jobe is ever present after just turning 18 a couple months ago and is one I forget he is so young!

Maybe Ba would develop into a good player if we stopped insisting on playing the majorly ineffective Roberts over him on the right wing. Our best run of form came with Ba on the right wing where he produced both goals and assists, Roberts has done neither. How can we expect Ba to develop and have confidence if he is dropped after performing well and has his position changed constantly just to keep Roberts in the team?

Never understood the mindset of fans doing that, targeting a player for a poor performance is disgusting and just causes confidence issues. Booing the team is one thing but an individual is a totally different thing.

In Ba’s case he’s young and playing out of position in an area where we are struggling to score goals. Should he have scored? Certainty. Should he have started as our striker? Not at all. Is booing going to help? Definitely not.

3-0 wasn’t a fair reflection of the game. But throughout the first half there were plenty of warning they would exploit us in between midfield and defence, as has been the case in a lot of games this season. We lacked any movement in the box going forward due to ba not having that natural movement being a midfielder (jobe does seem to have that movement up front though - see his disallowed goal against WBA and goal against Leeds). How neither were addressed at half time was really surprising for me, it was a bad day for Beale and rightly or wrongly it doesn’t feel like the crowd is going to give him the patience a head coach deserves at the start of the job.

Ba is definitely more effective on the right, just can’t get my head around playing him centrally. He’s simply not physically strong enough or tactically aware to play there.

I do like Roberts and he had a couple of decent runs when hugging the touch line and dribbling in. However he seems to drift centrally and collect the ball there way more than he should be, he’s completely ineffective when doing that. That’s something the coach needs to work on.

At multiple points yesterday we were playing a 4-6-0 formation, on one occasion both Clarke and Roberts were playing in the middle. It’s like nobody had a clue where to play.

This Sunderland echo safc post on Facebook showing James Copley saying SAFC fans singing Mowbray’s name is a joke. Literally have fans proud of it. I seem to be ploughing a lone furrow in being against it!

Just watched the last few minutes of the Wolves v Chelsea game where Chelsea passed themselves to death against a structured wolves who's second goal went through the gap between defence and midfield... it reminded me of us yesterday
