Not including the current lot in this as I dont think they have had a fair crack of the whip. Here is a list to enjoy Rod ****ing Bellfitt Bob Lee Roy Greenwood Roly Gregoire David Swindlehurst Tom Ritchie Brett Angell Paul Stewart Danny Bastard Graham Any others to add to this glorious list
Wonder who has the worst goal per game ratio, I think Altidore had 1 in 40 league games, the average defender has a better ratio than that.
Let's check, I'll do wikipedia and only include league because hattricks against accrington stanley are less valid: Name, games, goals. Rod ****ing Bellfitt (39, 4) Bob Lee (109, 32) Roy Greenwood (56, 9) Roly Gregoire (9, 1) David Swindlehurst (72, 11) Tom Ritchie (35, 8) Brett Angell (10, 0) Paul Stewart (34, 5) Danny Bastard Graham (51, 1) Grigg (47, 5) Altidore (42, 1) Laslandes (12, 0) James Vaughan (23, 2) David Kelly (34, 2)
Kazaiah Sterling, on loan from Spurs in one of the league one seasons, think he's playing low level football in America now
Looking at that list Bob Lee and Tom Ritchie shouldn't be on it, it's disrespectful to them to be put with the likes of Altidore and Danny Graham.
What's interesting is the amount of strikers who are prolific before signing for us, do nothing here, then are prolific as soon as they leave.
Most teams build their side around creating chances for the forward, we did that under Johnson for Wyke, we did it for Bent and we did it under Reid for Quinn and Phillips. Outside of that we seem to think just lumping any striker into the starting 11 with no plan will work. Best example being replacing Maja with Grigg, two completely different players but not changing the system.
