What differebce playing Grant central with Ettete, 75 mins of getting hammered but the last 15 plus injury time wow. Now please start that pair up front because they won the game for you MR Bullut. What a performance by the back four with all their corners. So happy to finally give Grant a lot of praise.
Great to get the much needed, if undeserved, 3 points today. Not unlike the wins at Sunderland and Preston. When will we get a nice and comfortable 3 or 4 nil win? No panics, mistakes or sweating on a win to the end. It will need that to happen for me to feel we are getting somewhere. As with a lot of our defeats, they have been by the odd goal. There are such fine lines between winning and losing. A result like the stuffing Leeds gave Ipswich today would do wonders for our confidence. I guess it will need the return of Ramsey and O'Dowda plus a couple of better quality new arrivals in January to give us a chance of achieving this but wouldn't it be good if we had a Boxing Day present of this against Plymouth albeit with the current squad? This would put us in good heart for the visit of Leicester later in the week and set us up nicely for the start of 2024.
To be fair, the last comfortable win we had was home against the Jacks!!! Smash and grab again today, still lots of work for Erol and the team to do to lift those confidence levels as you say BfB... Hopefully Plymouth can be that game but somehow I suspect we will be waiting until we get reinforcements in before we can achieve such comforts.
My brother and I had $2 at 5-2 as we tend to make smaller bets, just in case we lose. Despite everything I think we are capable of winning every game whoever plays.
We defended for 75 minutes and could not stop their goal but then kept a clean sheet which kept us in the game which we did in style, they could not handle Ettete and Grant when he went central. Football is about scoring more goals than the other side, if you do tht you deserve it. All this talk about doing other stuff apart from scoring or stopping the other side scoring is useless.
