http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-15824595 what a load of rubbish tbh, police acting OTT again thoughts?
Going by this, the plod should have arrested the entire Fratton end earlier in the season. Do you now what they were shouting, cos if its the same as "does your boyfriend know your here" etc then Brighton fans need to learn how to take a joke.
Not sure how many times I've had to explain this on here, but here we go again... The police aren't acting OTT, they're administering the law. They don't have the power to just arrest people as they please. Furthermore, the law is this way for a good reason.
i have no idea, although i (think) i saw 2 people being escorted from the kingsland shortly after the does your boyfriend know your here chants so could be related but honestly not sure nothing wrong with being gay, so not sure why brighton have to take it so personally? and joe: whether they are administering the law or not, its still an OTT law to begin with i think
hehe I would like to hear what the penalty for these charges are if the guy throwing a bottle just got a police caution they're in deep trouble
I hope there aren't 'humourous' chants at the Bristol City fans about the ethnic diversity of their city on Saturday!! (I know most of em are white)
There was a little bit of fighting, really don't know what about, but of the 2 that I saw escorted out, one of them came back about 5 mins later. Could have been down to chanting, could've been anything
It is not as if there were no warnings about the use of homophobic abuse, it was posted in the Echo and discussed before the match on here and other forums, there is nothing clever about being abusive in a manner to attract attention, no sympathy from me on this occasion, it is simply not Saintly.
Totally agree with SAINTDON13, if the abuse was totally homophobic then its not Saintly. Banter is banter, and the majority of songs were pretty tongue in cheek, but their were one or two "fans" just being idiots (most worrying was the kid behind me no older then 12 shouting "Queer!!" loudly when Steve Harper went to retrieve the ball), its not on, doesn't reflect well on our club at all. I really don't think the Brighton fans mind the majority of the songs, but verble abuse just aint on. Lets not get ourselves a bad rep.
I called in at the fishmongers today and he said we were maligning the skate. In his view this rather adorable and innocent fish was being tainted by its association with a rather nasty bunch of undesirables. He plans to take the matter to European Commission on Fishing and will be seeking a change in the law making it a criminal offence to insult fish at football grounds.
They were expressing their opinions...ok they were offensive but I don't think that arresting these people will help the situation, like most social and political problems the solution is in educating the younger generations and teaching them from a young age.We live in the free world you can't stop people from saying what they want to but you can stop them from executing illegal acts.
