12.30pm kick off tomorrow. These fckers got thrashed Wednesday but will no doubt turn up tomorrow. Any chance we don't play Bruno tomorrow? Mount is injured again but Eriksen is fit enough to start. A midfield of Mainoo, Amrabat, and Eriksen would be better. Bring on McTominay and Bruno in the 2nd half. Of course none of that will happen. I hope Ten Hag has Amad on the bench at least. And considering most of the rest are injured, he might be a better option than 2 goalies sat there. No Maguire or Lindelof. Dalot suspended. -------------------Onana AWB---------Varane-----Evans-----Shaw -----------Amrabat-----McTominay Antony-----------Bruno-----------Garnacho -------------------Hojlund Will no doubt be the likely team. Bruno will be ****e btw and Eriksen will be brought on to try and save us when we're 2 goals down.
Not far off... looks like Varane is injured so Kambwala comes in for his 1st senior appearance. Good luck to him, I hope he does well -------------------Onana AWB---------Kambwala-----Evans-----Shaw -----------Mainoo-----McTominay Antony-----------Bruno-----------Garnacho -------------------Hojlund
Almost half hour gone. Solid enough performance but very little creativity in the final third. Everyone's played well so far except McTominay who stands out like a sore thumb. Mediocre again, and keeps giving the ball away. It's a shame though that we lack any creativity up front because we've played well otherwise.
HT 0-0 Good first half from us. We really should be a goal up. Shaw has been the stand out player, he's been incredible in every aspect. If we can keep playing like this then Eriksen and Rashford to come on at some point in the second half to add that cutting edge.
Popped out at 70 minutes to pick up my daughter, come back and we're 2-0 down, seeing them score the 2nd We just lack the ability to convert the chances we create. We don't have any idea of what to do when we get in or around the box.
Maybe harsh to say Onana fck up, but he defo should've done better. You'd expect a top goalkeeper to take care of that but he just isn't one and never will be which is worrying long term.
Possibly I missed it in real time and just going off replays. Should he have been stronger with his save, I think so.
I don't know what else he could've done tbh, the ball from Paqueta and the run from Bowen were perfection.
Yeh the ball in and Bowen was very good. I think the likes of Allison or Ederson save that though. De Gea saves that
I thought we looked alright for the first 70-75 mins. Despite the goals conceded, not scoring for 6 hours is the problem.
The same issue repeats itself game after game. We just can 't put away our chances. Our defence is never the same in any two games, hard for the defenders themselves and also Onana, our midfield has improved with Mainoo stepping in and we have options on the bench with Eriksen and Amrabat but it is our front players who are letting us down. Hojlund shows industry but lacks the patience to find the right finish, and Rashford is too inconsistent. Garnacho will develop over time and Antony finally hit a first time cross with his right foot.
I don't think the way we play when we get to the final third helps our front players at all. Today we were really good playing through the middle and getting to the box. Then we just slow it down so that West Ham are well organised and our front 3 are crammed for space. So, even if we get it out wide, the wide men can do fck all with it because the likes of Hojlund or anyone else in the box is crowded out. The wide men ultimately then give away possession. It ALL needs to be quicker once we get to the final third. Stop slowing it down!
On the plus side it's worth mentioning Kambwala had a very good, solid debut at CB. He's good with the ball at his feet too. Mainoo despite the cock up for the 2nd also played well.
We have scored mighty two goals in the last five games, won one, lost three! While everyone is too preoccupied with which players should stay and which ones should go, which owners are adequate, which tea lady is best for the role, the manager continues with an utterly horrible system which yields no end product. This system is decisively worse than LvG’s and it really doesn’t matter which players take to the pitch at this point, the system is completely blunt! It simply is not adequate for the premier league and will never yield enough goals to become a consistently performing team. It lies squarely on ETH who has had 11 new players (some on loan) in his very short stint. But he has no idea what to do with them. Until he figures it out or leaves, the mess will continue. Nothing better sums it up more than Antony for £80m! Fkin joke!!
