To be honest I would only have Hughes, MON or Lambert out of this list: http://www.thesackrace.com/teams/sunderland/
Lee Clark 5th favourite at 8/1 Incredible... Martin O'Neill everytime for me, if he would come. What do people think Mark Hughes would bring to Sunderland? I havn't took a great deal of notice how he sets his teams up.
MON is overrated imo. He can only seem to do anything when he has quite a bit of cash to spend, otherwise he throws a strop.
The job he did at Fulham and Blackburn was excellent, his teams are organized, fit and hard to break down plus he is a far better motivator than Bruce. He bought Kompany for around 6 million and he is the best defender in the premier league at present.
What do people think about Bally, he is doing alright with the youths and at least would bring some passion.
Sorry but it's a no from me. We need to think bigger. We have tried that route before.... Malcolm Crosby & Ricky Sbragia & thet didn't work out too well.
Maek Hughes or Martin O'Neill would have you as a top 8 side, no doubt about it. The fact that Lee Clark is in the running shows that they don't actually pay any interest in what happens in the north east. However, if Short has the same sort of brain as Ashley, it would hardly be a surprise to see an appointment like that
shocker - 14/1 roy keane! i'd take MoN or hughesy, but i'd worry about what might happen if they fail. would short then get bored and up sticks? i'd also have rafa - would be interesting to see how he'd do. and bally as a wildcard! he's inexperienced but he's not like sbragia. bally was a legend and an inspirational player for the club
FFS he stropped once coz he was promised funds at Villa and didnt get them then after he left they spunked 24 million on Bent so was justified in the end! His record blows Bruce out of the water and Pardews for that matter!
Well said. O Neill has a CV second only to SAF and Wenger as far as winning trophies outside the title in Britain. Seeing that there have only been 3 managers to hold the title in the last 15 years that ain't bad company. Martin o Neill would be amazing for a club like ours.
If that spotty faced twat ever comes back to the SOL as manager I would never cross its doors ever again. That would be the final final straw. Like you, I think O Neill is the outstanding candidate with an outstanding CV.
Mark Hughes played great attacking football at both Fulham and Blackburn, was 4th in the league at Man City when they sacked him, so for me it's a no-brainer. If a big name was to come in, I reckon Rafa would have a point to prove!
Coming from someone who thinks Bruce is doing a good job your credibility on that argument is somewhat flawed. Oh and ask villa fans if they prefered o neills football, cup finals and 3 successive top 6 finishes, or Houliers almost relegation football, or that bucket of ****e that big heck delivered tonight and I'll tell you now what they would choose. Bruce isn't fit to wipe O Neills arse chum.
I'm amazed Gianfranco Zola is 12/1 he was hopeless at West Ham. Would be a bad appointment for you guys.
........and by the way, my credibility is only flawed in YOUR opinion. In MY opinion, you're so far off the mark, it's unreal....chum
Were watching **** football now and sleepwalking into a relegation ffs! Couldnt give a **** if O`neill dosnt inspire the most attractive football, at least he will get the basics right and we will actually ****ing pick up some points and not be constantly worried about a relegation fight every ****ing year! Can not believe Bruce still has a job!
