Good evening, I think Trent Reznor is a musical genius. He wrote almost all NIN music himself. Played it and recorded it himself. The band kind of came together to play it live. This is my 6.30am and on the road song. Kind of gets the heart started after the caffeine and nicotine hit. Tak care all. Have a lovely Christmas with the loved ones. Peace, love and hopefully the world stops being mental in 24
The Consett red dust.... I'm from Penshaw/Washington originally, only moved up to Consett in 2015. The steelworks closed 1980 I think, so before my time up here really. I've heard about the red dirt but never seen it myself.
All great voices but for shear impact and range it has to be Elvis for me , (I guess you probably missed those years). Only the Beatles come anywhere near in that respect imo. As for the Animals, they covered good stuff, I saw them at Gogo's before they had recorded House of the Rising Sun . I was a mod by then into blues music, so the Stones led the way for me, only saw them at the Sunderland Odeon when they had just released the second album, the last one of theirs I ever bought, my tastes changed so quickly in those days there was so much good stuff around..
Saw them many many times in the NE absolutely one of the best live bands ever, , who frequented the Bay back in the day, Jim King and Rick Gretch and lead Guitar whose name escapes me atm were great virtuosos which never came over on their records, they could jam for Britain. Incidently a lSunderland lad out of This Years Girl was there live-in roadie down in Liecester .
For four years whilst serving my apprenticeship 1970-74, I was on day release, one day a week at Consett Tech. When I got home I had to have two baths before the water was running clean
