im not one for geting over optimistic and carried away when predicitng results, but if you cant predict a home win for us this saturday after saturdays performance, and burnleys current standing, im not sure when you can...
i was tempted to put in something about it being our promotion season when we last beat them. I decided to wait until after the game (if we win) but now i can just blame you if we **** up, lose and they get promoted as a reverse omen. cheers for that
I hope four players don't get sent off this time. ****ing annoying game that was. Though obviously not as annoying as Geo's sending off at their gaff.
oh yeah, what did he get sent off for again? i remember mears triping over his own feet for a penalty, and geos cracking freekick being disallowed, proper ripped off..
My last game at Barnsley was when we got stuffed, took tiger travel so leaving early wasn't even an option (it was bloody freezing). Thanks to that i've still only ever once left a game early (apart from for work reasons in which case i've left countless times) Huddersfield away, i can't remember the year and can't be bothered to look it up but we got hammered and it was when Peter Taylor was off managing the U-21s so Colin Murphy was in charge. After about 20 minutes (and a couple of goals down) we all sang there's only one Justin Whittle (he was on the bench and Marc Joseph had started) and all gave a massive cheer when he came on This is the Tiger's History thread right?
me too, i thought it had cost brown his job at the time, some will say it should have, but i arent getting into that..ha ha
**** it, go 4-3-3 again _________Fryatt Stewart__________Brady Koren in the hole again. dont really have many options to be fair, and i cant see barmby going defensive at home so this is all we're left with.. we're very short on attacking options arnt we... roll on january !! burnley are our bogey team... last game i went to in the prem was the burnley game at the KC.. kilbane got the first goal and then burnley scored 4.... bastards
I see Burnley have a rearranged game at Birmingham tomorrow night - hope that takes a lot out of them.
I reckon you guys should beat them. Apparently they played well against us which i actually thought both teams in our game were ****. They were nothing special especially if thats them playing well
Speaking of which, when was the last time we didn't get promoted in a leap year? I remember that game and if I recall correctly we ended up chanting "We want Whittle!" and eventually he was brought on I reminded Justin of this at one of the OSC thingies when he ended up sat on our table and he remembered it as vividly as I did but responded with his typical modest/shy face. He was also sat just behind us at Derby the other day and the people round him starting singing his name. Back to Burnley though, they need a good hammering from us but their side looks miles better on paper than their recent results suggest, and they were unlucky against TWS the other day, so they might be a tougher proposition than we expect.
Justin was at the Derby game, he was most embarrassed with the 'there's only one Justin Whittle' chant that started mid way through the second half.
Back to the Charlie Austin topic... he might be available after all, it's still unlikely but if his scan at the end of the week shows he's ok he might well play http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11688/7324358/
