Just listening to it now. Down to the football fans, can only happen if they are prepared to pay for it, via gate revenue, merchandise and subscriptions. The ECJ have no power over the fan thought process, like the previous proposal it can only happen if the fans allow it. As ususal lower league fans will just carry on with the business of staying alive.

it’s already starting next year with the league system in the champions league….can bet your bottom dollar that the Arabs have already had the thumbs up they will get a couple of places for their entertainment

but like you say the lower leagues have got other things to worry about and I for one will say good riddance to the big corporate clubs

My company gives extra days leave based on length of service, I personally get an extra 3 added to my 5 weeks (1 for every 10 years). We also get focus days which is basically another day off a month and you are supposed to use it for some kind of self healing, de-stressing type activity which makes you more productive for the rest of the month. You are not allowed to add it to either the beginning or end of any leave during the year, as it’s not supposed to be additional holiday entitlement!!!

Yeah I was going to add to my comment that most companies give additional days, but might just have different names for them. I've even known companies to give bonuses (or some type of award) for no time off sick, but not sure if they are still allowed to do that these days.

Yeah I'll just treat it the same as I do now, if I'm interested I'll watch it, if I'm not then I'll bin any subscription for it. I'm more concerned with them binning Ifollow next season if I'm understanding it right, as it stands certain games I can watch live, for those that are not live I can watch a full match replay the next day, which allows me to keep contact with my club when I'm unable to attend games, by SKY taking it over I'm concerned it might screw that up, although it is a revenue generator because it's way more expensive as you have to pay per game, so hopefully there'll be some workaround with it.

Yeah same. I think it’s because of the Earth’s 365.25 day orbit that the solstice and equinox shift around each yeah. But yep, basically around the 21st <ok>

I've got 2 days in the office and 3 remote - other nice touch is that you can finish at lunchtime on a Friday if you've done the standard hours by then ...which won't ever be a problem for me tbf <laugh>

The “blue collar” employees at our manufacturing plants certainly get part of there bonus based on no sick throughout the year.

I get why they do it but disagree with it. If it’s December and you’re ill but it’s going to cost you a lump if you don’t go in then chances are you do it and maybe get ten people ill in the process.

WFH for those that can has reduced sick days. Lots of things you’d used to call in sick for you can now crack on at home with even if less productively.

I probably over simplified it. They don’t lose all of there bonus as A, it’s only one element of the overall bonus and it’s prorata, so they don’t lose it all and B, they have full sick pay

Yeah but still taking the sick day is going to cost X, though it’ll save Y in commuting. If you’re skint you probably consider it differently to if you’re not. It might still be worth it for the business if without it people just can’t be arsed occasionally. Just think it encourages bad behaviour.

So you’ve had 12 jobs and yet this is the first which offers benefits that most companies have provided for years. 35 years ago I went out with a girl who worked in London and was given a couple of “Christmas shopping” days off!

No one finishes at lunchtime on Friday if you're in a wealthy business, it's all down the pub on the boss lol.

Actually, only reason I said that was because I was thinking of contacting my lad to meet up for a beer after he finishes tomorrow lunchtime for Christmas, but then thought he'll probably fook off to the pub with the owners.

Didn't say that - just said what this one does - the fashion retailer I worked for would finish at 3 every Friday during the summer months - this one is the first to give the days between Xmas and New Year in addition to the annual leave allowance, mind - so not having to use any annual leave during Xmas for the first time in my working life ...
