Amazing, ain't it... not that long ago the old 606 Board was full of us Rs desperate to get rid of Helguson. When he went back to Watford on loan there was a deafening sigh of relief (if there is such a thing...)
Faurlin then HH but sorry Colin has stumbled over current formation it's working great but can't forgive him for Rochdale and Hogan at the moment
Great job by everyone can only agree with everything already written, don´t forget Bothroyd has just found his scoring boots-head.
If you want to talk about spirit how about Clint. Dumped off to Forest, surely it put HIS nose out of joint. Dragged back ............then asked to play anywhere and everywhere....and done it with some degree of ability. For club spirit CLINT....best player, the player that is making it happen Faurlin (but Mackie, is the person who is making it happen for HH) (this is why I think Scotty Parker...is the star of the Spurs team....not Modric, or Van der Valk! or Bale)
HH, we will get the man utd v newcastle match as first choice but my little red button will get me the norwich v qpr match, reckon it will be a cracker
HH for sure. He's gone from zero to hero in 5 games. The change in fans' attitude towards him is absolutely amazing.
there's been a few traore has impressed me, HH & fraulin are stand out performers so far, but team morale & effort has been superb except fulham.
The real beauty of this thread is how many different names can be offered forward legitimately for best performer
There are so many though, Stanley. There IS a common theme though, that lets us sift the wheat from the chaff. The best performers are all of those who have realised that there's a job to do, and have commited themselves to do it. Guys like Clint, and Derry, and most definately Helgs, whose natural ability levels (with all respect) wouldn't naturally suggest a successful role in a top-half Premier League side. But they are performing over and above week-in, week-out. And they are in the form of their lives. Then you have guys like Mackie, whose ability wasn't in question but the leg-break last season made us all wonder whether he'd come back strong or as another Cookie. His application and effort have shone through. There's guys like Faurlin who are getting a chance to shine on the big stage and are grasping it with both hands, and there are the new guys, experienced at htis level, who are not letting us down. Then there's Adel, who just doesn't seem to have been making the effort up to now, and hasn't looked like he cares that much. And that's the difference. Effort and application wins our support. Laziness and poor attitude leaves us cold. My vote for best performer is split between Helgs and Mackie. Helgs for achievement, and Mackie for effort, application, and inspiration.
Young, Ferdinand, Faurlin (yes I do think he's been good so far) have been our best players followed closely by HH (goals) SWP (effort) Mackie (more effort). Paddy has had a bit of a mare but I can't blame him. Traore is a work in progress. Fitz is past it, Gabbidon hasn't impressed. Derry & Hill - both Championship winning Legends but not convinced of long term future. Barton seems to be either man of the match or the invisible man, would like to see him leave, sorry, be more consistent. DJ, Tommy, Bothroyd need to find their shooting boots. Adel needs......give up, no idea what he needs or what we should do with him!!!
