Billy Sharp has joined Hull until the end of the season so he'll be coming back to St Mary's when we play them.
A pity he couldn’t really step up to the PL with us but he’ll forever be a Saints legend for this game alone:
Juventus were apparently interested in Sulemana last summer, so maybe some sort of player+cash deal? But yeah, would be very surprised if this is even remotely true.
That I could see as a viability, even so Why would this chap drop down to rhe championship. Non starter I reckon.
Onuachu scored again, before match was abandoned due to another prick of a club president throwing his toys out of the pram: https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/67767410 Anyway, we must be able to get 10-12m for Tall Paul.
I expect this is a horror show of a translation and the player has a 30m release clause in his contract. And that maybe we are happy to bid for him and they would sell him for his clause but not that we would bid that
This board always seems to lose sense of credibility when it comes to the transfer windows when, for the rest of the year, is is the very definition of sensible. I have to be honest and comment that I am more worried abut the likes of KWP being sold than who we bring in. I cannot see much transfer activity when it comes to the recruitment of new staff but feel that we will receive bids for Adams, Alacraz, KWP, Sulemana and Bazunu. I can see at least two of these going. I would not be surprised if someone like Forest took a punt on Edosie too. With regards to Mara, I have a feeling that he will come good in the second half of the season and fill the void left by Stewart being continually injured; He seems to have filled out a bit the last few months and I think his improved physique will not permit hm to be brushed off the ball too easily as was the case in the past. I would not sell him as I think he has potential.
Left back and a striker (possibly just LB, but another striker if Che goes) and not lose anyone significant (ie, it's okay to lose Che but preferably not anyone else) and I'm happy.
I doubt it too. But we still have a loan available, two if Holgate leaves. I can see us loaning a striker rather than buying one, since Stewart could be back by Feb. Plus we might have £20-25m if we sell Che and Tall Paul.
Can only see something like that happening for the winger (which I'm not against, by the way) if Sulemana buggers off. Which he might. A fellow Argentinian might be really good for Charly as well, as he's clearly struggled to settle socially (if reports are to be believed).
Is FPP really much of a concern atm or are we worrying about if we are still a Champ side in a couple of seasons? Thought the rules in the champ were income minus expenditure can’t be more than a loss of £15m a season. We’ve sold about 160m worth of players and bought about 20 wasn’t it? Wage bill about £50m a season , plus have the income of the parachute payments. I know it isn’t as straight forward as that and I’m not entirely sure if PL spending gets factored into the Champ calculations (I thought it was a 3 year rolling window which would be the parachute period frame of time for any relegated PL teams)
