I don't think we expected Howe to be winning cups at the Toon tbf. He was never signed for that in the first place, it was just to build us in a strong position. I still maintain that overall, due to combinations of FFP and an overestimation of certain players by a certain overpaid DoF, Howe has actually been let down a bit by upstairs.
I'll agree the summer window was disappointing and I honestly don't think we'll do much in Jan either.
If we are to move on as a club we have to get out of this accepting defeat so easily mentality. It is in our DNA I am afraid and we have to shake that. We have to he royally ****ed over that we ****ed it up today. Only then can we move on. It’s like therapy. Accept it. We have to move on. We have been shafted. We get shafted. We are shafted. So let’s accept it. And clean up the mess.
Caicedo should have been off early doors. gallagher should have been sent off for his shocking dive with second yellow Bruno should have been off for his cynical hack Overral ref had a shocker tbh but then so did every single player for both teams.
I keep repeating, we need to sign in Jan, we need to sign in Jan. But, do I expect us too? Nah, I really don't. I think we are going to struggle to get anyone in. Boardroom from what I saw regularly spoke about this season is going to be a pretty **** one, they're not going to be surprised by this.
I hate the January window, over inflated prices for other clubs rejects. Get a few decent loans and go again in the summer.
Ultimately Newcastle had their chance in the final last season and guess what they did absolutely nothing on the day. The club has had opportunity after opportunity over the last 50 years and failed miserably every single time. I don't know how many times the positivity brigade need to be kicked in the balls before seeing the next blow coming. The next one is when Newcastle lose at Luton.
My frustration is only from love mate. Just want to see this club, it’s fans, everything and everyone involved to have our time, but I agree. Our time is coming.
It's going to get worse before it gets better ... I mean I suppose there's a possibility it just never gets better.
There's going to be a realisation over the coming weeks that myself along with a few others have been right about the actual level of this side. They finished 4th once simply because they had a flash in the pan season playing fewer games than other clubs while 3 of the top 6 had a bad season. The project is a ten year plan and they're ahead of schedule if they finish 8th this season. People needed to stay more humble.
