Agreed. Now we're at January and have at least 1 backup. Gamble paid off.

Of course you can absolutely keep talking - just try not to clearly ignore the elephant in the room that is that he couldn't play if we even did have him back! That's quite an important fact, you know.

I know some people seem to unable to accept it, but Oscar is gone. He's not coming back into the team, bar something utterly catastrophic. He doesn't fit into what Rosey wants. I loved him but it's all over for him in black and amber.

Nobody is ignoring anything haha. People are just discussing things, you don't like it....ignore it and move on. No need to stamp your feet ( or the on caps lock button)

    Maybe.
Oscar is our player, but he was moved on pretty quickly once Delap and Connolly arrived and we also lost out on Davis, the irony there being Davis was a similar player to Oscar and we still let him go.
I don't 100% think Sharpe is here as a 3rd striker so much as to help what we have.

The irony in that statement considering how many times you've been involved in arguments on this board...

Anyways, Sharp is a good signing imo, will help in numbers in attack, help work with our attackers off-the-pitch, brings experience into a side not only in playing in this league but getting promotion from it, and has a proven track record on the pitch over the past decade plus in this division. And he's a free transfer. And it's only a short contract so should everything go tits up, he's gone.

Metz paid a 1m loan free and agreed to a 3m purchase option. So whilst we're technically his parent club still, to all practical intents and purposes he's not 'ours' anymore.

But on the upside, we got 13 goals and stand to make 4m ( which has gone a long way to financing this year's recruitment) from a free transfer - who has clear limitations at championship level and doesn't really fit the style we've adopted.

I'd say we've done very well out of Oscar, but whilst some want to chose to see it as poor or incompetent business. It really isn't. It's gone a long way towards financing this year's recruitment - which I'd defy anyone to suggest wasn't an improvement over the previous year.

If Sharp turns up with Billy's boots slung around his neck, then suffers the indignity of his Grandma chucking them into the dustcart, before later digging them out of the landfill site (sorry, rubbish tip) early Satdee afternoon, then making the stadium at half time with us three none down, before scoring four in the second half and been carried by his teammates around the pitch with a short back and sides shorn Captain Coyle claiming 'Cor lummy, Billy's bleedin' boots have bucked up our afternoon once again, an' no mistake', then I'll think he's a good signing.*

    Otherwise I think it's a bit pointless.

I'm more Billy The Fish meself.
Imagine flame haired winger Mick Hucknall of Simply Red swinging them in for Shakin' Stevens to finish.

Sorry, just got to call this comment out right here... Some people clearly go looking for it on here. I think you're one of them. I don't think HT2 is one of them.

Look at the thread HT2 made to debate the progress made under Rosenior... The thread that had some really good viewpoints on it until the usual suspects went on and derailed it because they thought it was a bashing session? (Ie, they didn't like the points being very sensibly made). The thread that gets bumped after every win with a new comment along the lines of 'Oh, GuEsS rOsEnIoR wAs **** AlL aLoNg ThEn HaHaHa' purely to illicit some sort of reaction. The thread where it was claimed everyone was racist for having the audacity to question our progress. I honestly think there are a few posters on here that think the rest of us all WANT us to lose games. Imagine that. I genuinely think there are a few on here that think the rest of us aren't worth this **** on their shoes.

Seriously what the **** is with this board at the moment? You're either on one side or the other, and lots of posters seem to have drawn very firm lines in the sand. It's ridiculous. I think some are argumentative but I do agree with their points from time to time.

2 in 38 last season doesn't scream "he's still got it" to me. Oh well.

14 in 38 season before with 7 assists.

6 in 12 for Galaxy. 205 career goals. There’s one thing if we have a big chance in the 6 yard box to get us a major point etc. There’s not many others at our club I’d want bar maybe Tufan.

The 'progress' thread was a dogwistle thread questioning the validity of the manager when the progress was clear to see for anyone wanting to actually see it.

The desperation from some to find fault led me to ask whether it was just the fact that he didn't 'look like a manager'.

Only people who suggested conscious racism were self selecting gammons, frothing at the mouth.

Not everyone has it all the time even younger players, but it screams out that this is a player that maybe has a thought imprinted in his mind that he can get one last hurrah at promotion and play at wembley so maybe he will give his absolute all to the cause and actually keep us cemeted in the play offs with his contributions.

Give the guy a break and stay sharp to the bottom of the glass.
