I've just been to Dunfermline and understood approximately half of what he said ... ... the Yanks would be totally lost if the correct accents were used tbh. I don't agree with your premise anyway. The Daphne character, in Frasier, is broad Manc as just one example.
I went to work in Newcastle when I was 23, didn’t understand a thing my new colleagues were saying for the first 6 months so I naturally softened the accent without realising. As did they. I then got called posh when I came back home . Think I’m pretty much back to normal now like!
I was quite proud of being mocked when I went to Paris for my southern French accent. I'd learned the language in Nice which has an Italian twang and lots of slang. I'd never thought of it tbh but it's bloody obvious when you think of it ... ... the local Chinese kids, in Fife, are all broad Scottish
Mentioned him being worth having around for nout when he was released in the summer and people were disgusted with me… now everyone wants a championship plodder! https://x.com/TheFLZone/status/1737117592006037803?s=20
That's very encouraging. If ever you were wondering if you were doing something right, and Simon Jordan tells you you're wrong, you'd be a very relieved man. He is probably the most pretentious man to ever appear on radio or TV. I've heard him on a few times, and Ye Gods, if ever there was a buffer it is that man. No wonder he lost his shirt in football. He constantly uses what he thinks is a clever word, (sometimes even a made up one), but gets them utterly wrong for the context or sometimes uses them implying the opposite of their actual meaning. Never picked up by his airhead presenters of course.
My son is doing a barbering course at SB barbers in Sunderland, the local lads keep telling him he sounds like Sam Fender, were from Northumberland ffs
He does some great interviews on his YouTube channel. Watched the one with Chris Eubank (senior) the other day and it was really good.
I was talking in general terms. We can all pick on rare examples to make point. You don’t agree with my premise? That’s ok mate. Not worth falling out over.
Took Palace into administration, appointed some poor managers and recently called Potter, who many wanted here, a mediocre manager.
I wouldn't fall out over something so trivial mate ... ... it's just funny that NE people, with all the slang and dialect, can be so concerned about someone's speech patterns. People from Sunderland are called Mackems and can't agree why
Do you agree with his opinion pieces? Maybe he could interview Beales instead of gobbing off about him, prior to getting his Botox and fake tan
That is total bollocks, TM did discuss with Dodds and Proccy, team selection for every game, final shout was TM's. It was Alex Rea who told me Beal was a very good coach, but deffo not a full blow manager, that's what KS and KLD wanted a proper forward thinking coach. I believe a manager will be a thing of the past soon, a manager who controls everything can't then focus on training and tactics, which is Beals strong points.
Think its great that a reporter from the Chronicle wants to write a column based on the opinions of Simon Jordan talking out his arse on Talk Sport. I would have given more credence if Jordan had fully researched the subject matter or even knew that TM was not sacked for asking for money. Yes he is allowed his opinion and that is fine but it should be a better informed opinion IMO. As for the Chronicle article it is lazy journalism in the extreme and spun to feed negativity and the reporter and the Chronicle should be rightly blasted for not doing research and forming their own balanced opinion , but like I said lets just spout out what Simon Jordan says and fill column inches. Laughable and sickening at the same time.
Don't like anything about the fella. I'm just saying he does good interviews on YouTube. Jim White was saying how big Sland are and how big the fanbase is and I saw him twist his face clearly disagreeing with him. He's a tit. But I still recommend the Eubank interview lol.
