This seems an utterly bizarre decision. He’s got them clear of the relegation zone on a budget of just £250m. Their fans have all the time in the world for him too. Their owner must have been pissed.

Think they will pretty soon, they've been keen on Cooper for a while, think they tried to get him before re-appointing Roy.
Hodgson was only ever keeping the Palace seat warm until a suitable candidate was found; he's in his mid-seventies. He's got a contract until the end of the season but I'm sure part of the agreement was that he'd step aside if someone like Cooper becomes available.
