How about 'Hull, glorious Hull ... there's nowhere quite like it etc' sung to the tune of 'Food, glorious Food' (from the musical 'Oliver') ?

    I'm a Believer ( the monkees )

I thought love was only true in fairy tales
Meant for someone else but not for me
    Then I saw Hull City
    That was it for me
    Disappointment sometimes but I dream

Black and Ambers ace, now I'm a believer
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
    I'm in love, I'm a believer!
    I couldn't leave them if I tried

Okay I'm not John lennon :emoticon-0101-sadsm

I mentioned this before on 606 but one song that gets sung with passion is '10 german bombers' which is to the tune of green bottles/she'll be coming round the corner at England games.

We have sod all songs for the new players so this could solve both problems and it goes on forever and is easy for the passive fan to join in on.

As an idea something like this.
    Slow to green bottles
We'll be soon back in the premiership under the (Pearsons)
We'll be soon back in the premiership under the (Pearsons)
We'll be soon back in the premiership
    Soon back in the premiership
Soon back in the prem because of the (Allams)

    and theeennn
Faster to coming round the mountain
Fryatt's gonna bang them in the back (of the net)
And then Fryatt's gonna bang them in the back (of the net)
And then Fryatt's gonna win the
    Fryatt's gonna win the
Fryatt's gonna win the golden boot (for the HUll)

    And theeennn
    Slow to green bottles
Gerrards gonna sign on for the Hull (not the dole)
Gerrards gonna sign on for the Hull (not the dole)
    Gerrards gonna sign on
    Gerrards gonna sign on
Gerrards gonna sign on for the Hull (not the dole)

    and thennn
Faster to coming round the mountain
Koren's gonna lift the FA Cup (for the Hull)
And then Koren's gonna lift the FA Cup (for the Hull)
    Korne's gonna lift the
    Koren's gonna lift the
Koren's gonna lift the FA Cup (for the Hull)

    Becaauuse
Finish with a really slow verse of
I am a Tiger till I die (Till I die)
Because I am a Tiger till I die (Till I die)
    because I am a Tiger
    I am a Tiger
I am a Tiger till I die (CITY)

Not overly original but somewhat simple, probably shouldn't take the piss out of the scousers welfare issues mind <laugh>. Verses can come and go but the tune remain.

    What about:

I thought love was only true in fairy tails,
At least I thought it was till I find Hull,
    Saw the black and amber,
    Heard the tigers roar,
Knocking on the prem-ier leagues door,

    Then I saw us play,
    Now I'm a believer
    Not a trace,
    Of doubt in my mind,
    I'm in love,
    I'm black and amber,
    I am a tiger, Till I die.

Maybe not as good as yours but oh well :)

Just modify the 1950's "Boothferry Roar" to 'The Tigers Roar"

If you want to hear the Tigers roar
Come along to the KC stadium
See Andy Dawson lead the way
Good old Tigers the people will say
And when the Black and Ambers
    Are right on the mark
You will want to sing this ditty
So raise your voice in the TIGERS ROAR

    H--U--L--L City

I'll get my coat >>>>>>>>>.. byeeeeee lol

When you think about a lot of 'traditional' songs associated with clubs they are pretty naff really. 'Keep right on to the end of the road' (Birmingham City); 'Bubbles' (West Ham); YNWA (Liverpool). Sentimental songs with themes of journeys and dreams.

So, on that theme (and choosing one no other team uses) the one that fits the bill for us is: 'Climb Every Mountain' from the Sound of Music.

Climb every mountain, search high and low
Follow every byway, every path you know.
Climb every mountain, ford every stream,
Follow every rainbow, 'til you find your dream!

    A dream that will need
all the love you can give,
    Every day of your life
for as long as you live.

Climb every mountain, ford every stream,
Follow every rainbow, 'til you find your dream!

Imagine, if you can, the East Stand singing that.

See sagegee tiger, already you can see the potential. I bet there's quite a few people who sit in the east stand have nun's habits in the closet. And for anyone who feels that 'climb every mountain' might be a little too camp for a club anthem, you only have to think of the enjoyment Stoke fans have had with Delilah.

Marching On Together does not sound camp! In fact, a few of Leeds' old anthems were written by a Hull White, Ronnie Hilton. :D

You'll Never Walk Alone doesn't belong to any particular club, Celtic and Man U both claim to have sung it before Liverpool, and dozens of other clubs sang it including Leeds.

For the record, I do like the Elvis recording of 'Falling In Love With You' but I don't think it has the right tempo for a terrace anthem. Good luck with your compositions.

    Marching on Together does sound camp when Leeds fans sing it;
    "going down on each-other!"

    Anyway, back on topic -

The thing with these types of things is that EVERYONE needs to agree on it and you're never going to please 20-odd thousand people - not only that, but you have to get everyone to embrace them too.
Plenty of songs get wrote for City chants, but too many people aren't bothered/don't want to embrace them/too ignorant to care.

I'd be happy to give it a go too...

(picked songs on random from Spotify and decided to see if they'll fit):

    Madness - Our House:
"King's Town - in the middle of England,
King's Town - in the middle of England"
    (best I can do there)
    -----------------------------------------

Madness - It must be love:

As soon as I wake up
    Every night, every day
    I know that it's you, I need
    To take the blues away

It must be HULL, CIT, EE (de-derr)
It must be HULL, CIT, EE (de-derr)
    Nothing more, nothing less
    City's the best"
    ---------------------------------
Claudette and the Corporation - Skinheads a bash them

*whilst all pointing at the away fans*
"City say them sh*theads cannot play,
City say them sh*theads cannot stay,
    City-a smash them! (la-la-la-lah-la-la)
    City-a smash them! (la-la-la-lah-la-la)
    ----------------------------------------
Random, but worthy of an anthem...
    Reel Big Fish - Beer
"And if i get drunk well, I'll pass out
    On the floor now baby
You won't bother me no more
And if you're drinkin' well, you know
That you're my friend and I say
    I think I'll have myself a beer"
    -----------------------------------
    UB40 - Kingston Town
    "Oh kingston town,
The place I long to be
If I had the whole world
    I would give it away
Just to see, the Hull at play
    Ooh, ooh, ooh"

    Or

    "The night seems to fade,
    But the moonlight lingers on
    There are wonders for everyone
    The stars shine so bright,
    But they`re fading after dawn
There is magic in kingston town"
    ------------------------------------
    Bob Marley - Redemption Song
It's about slavery, so has a link in a way - plus, many will already know it as a lot of people are taught it in school and it's got quite strong sounding words to it which will sound loud when sung...

    "Old pirates, yes, they rob I;
Sold I to the merchant ships,
    Minutes after they took I
    From the bottomless pit.
But my hand was made strong
    By the 'and of Tigernation.
    We forward in this generation
    Triumphantly.
    Won't you help to sing
    This songs of freedom
    'Cause all I ever have:
    Hull City songs;
    Hull City songs."

    -------------------------------------------------
The Clash - Rock the Casbah

"The league don't like it (do-do-do-doo-doo)
    SUPER CITY!
    SUPER CITY!
The league don't like it (do-do-do-doo-doo)
    SUPER CITY!
    SUPER CITY!"
    --------------------------------------------------
    That's all I got to...

To the tune of Sloop John B in the style of Phil Brown:

    We're from East Yorkshire's shore
    Dad's an angler and mum's a whore
It's the only way to earn your keep in this place

    Down the KC
    There's no-one but me
    Nobody sane would follow City

Ashbee's the best we've ever got
And he won himself the lot
A three match ban and a rigged Sportmail poll

    Our honours list
    Doesn't exist
When the Tigers go bust I don't think we'll be missed

Down the leagues again we will drop
Playing old foes like FC Worksop
"Mauled by the Tigers" will be a thing of the past

    Supporters will flee
    Away from City
And **** off back to KR and FC
