I do love how when the refs have shocking performances week after week, the people punished are the managers and players rather than the actual officials making the **** decisions.

Could equally say managers and players have poor performances too?

Of course you can, but that clearly isn't what this thread is about.

Managers and players don't also RUN THE LEAGUE. The EFL does.

Or did you just want to have a weird dig at Rosenior in every thread on here?

It wasn't a 'weird dig at Rosenior' in any shape or form!!
Ref's continually get abuse, players (and managers) continually try to con them, etc etc. It's ridiculous what refs have to put up with. By all means question decisions, but with respect. No issue for me whatsoever when players or managers get reprimanded for being abusive. There should be FAR more of it (a la Rugby Union).

This is one area where Rosey can and needs improve massively. If he came out with some of the ****e and antics he has done in the premier league, with all the exposure you get there, he would get crucified by the media.

The useless ****s need to know how shocking they are, even if they're not the ones punished. Their incompetence could cost someone their job at the end of the day

It's always been the case that referees occasionally make mistakes which cost teams. Football has always been this way. The recent, growing anger towards referees for just being human is unreasonable and starting to become dangerous. The Turkish ref who got punched by the club president is an example of the way things are going.

No one should have to accept having abuse shouted at them just for making honest mistakes.

I love Rosenior and think he's a brilliant manager but he does seem to have an issue with anger towards refs. I'm glad he's frustrated when we lose games we shouldn't, but it's not great to keep letting it come out as anger at refs.

I like a bit of passion but I do have to agree with this despite that. It's all well and good the fans getting annoyed about it, but as the man in charge he could do with reigning that in a little bit. Seems he's getting there though, at least this time it wasn't on the touchline.

300k a week striker misses a sitter and gets rallied round. Ref makes a mistake and it’s his fault.

They should ban any contact or conversation with the ref after a game, I've never understood why some refs allow a manager to come and talk to them. No discussion, no argueing, if a manager has a problem with the decisions they should put it in writing (I think they already have to fill in an assessment form anyway?).

Add to that, only the captain can talk to the ref on the pitch, and you might see an improvement in behaviour.

Put a mic on all the refs any abuse is instant ban, there's zero respect in football and it needs to change.

I thought that arguing during the game between player and ref had been outlawed? Seems worse than ever. If its seen as intimidation then the coach needs to set an example. I'm no fan of other sports but what's the point in arguing after the decision? And maybe the outstreched arms pleading for a ref to change his mind should also be discouraged?
Debriefing after the game with ref, coach/manager/team captain looking at the salient points of dispute should be thrashed out for an hour directly after the game behind closed doors imo.
If the ref is constantly at fault then he (and she now) should go back to school/training.

There is more scrutiny on refs than ever before. Of course they make mistakes, everyone does but we aren’t analysed after we leave work by a panel plus everyone else who was there. No one( I hope) gets screamed at all day at work. There has been some shocking mistakes but as usual it’s the guy on the poorest pay who gets looked down on and never the money men.
Mike the refs up, hold the serial ref abusers to count, yellow or red cards and deal with poor referees at the same time.

They did bring in some new laws, only 2 or 3 players at the referee, no shouting abuse. The referees should have been throwing yellow and red cards from the off, if it ended up being 5 a side they would have soon learnt. But the refs didn't have the bottle or backing and as you say it seems worse now than ever.

    Edit
The new measures state players "must not confront, invade the personal space of, or make physical contact with the match officials".

They add that "two or more players surrounding a match official in a confrontational manner will result in a yellow card and be reported to the Football Association".

They have a mic, we just don’t get to hear any of it.
