Couldn’t give less of a damn about this game if I tried. All I care about is seeing some of the youngsters and fringe players getting minutes. I don’t want to see anymore than 3 first team players on that pitch.

As I’ve said previously, full focus should be on Brighton at home and nothing else. If Arteta wants to experiment, this is the game to do it.

ESR has travelled there. Along with Walters, Sousa and Nwaneri.

Yep, great news. It’s highly unlikely all of them start, but would be great if a couple of them can make their CL debut tonight.

I am praying to God that this isn’t true because I will lose my mind. I can understand not playing a team full of youngsters, but to play a completely full strength side in a game which has no effect on where we finish? If anyone gets a serious injury in this game, he’s going to get castigated.

The only difference is we get an extra €2.4m for a victory but we’re not that strapped for cash that we need to do this (I hope anyway otherwise we have bigger problems).

Not happy about both Gabriel and Saliba starting frankly, as I think it’s totally unnecessary. Walters should have started. The rest of the side, I can live with.

Arteta is an idiot for starting Saliba and Gabriel in a game that means nothing.

I can hear Brunel cursing as Arteta brings Rice and Jesus on

<laugh> didn’t think it was necessary, and felt like a couple of the youngsters deserved minutes, but we didn’t suffer any injuries and we got a decent result with a heavily rotated side. Even if it meant nothing in the grand scheme of things.

It was too transition-based and there were a lot of loose passing and open spaces in the middle (for both sides), we both had chances to win the game. Overall, result is fair.

Now that this dead rubber is done, focus on Brighton is all that matters now.

I only caught the last 10 mins. But like you say, a game of no consequence, but good to give a few players like Elneny, Nelson a run out and good to see ESR back on the pitch

All about Brighton now, who have given us some really tough games over the last few seasons. It’s getting really tight at the top now, so we can’t afford to slip up in this game

    Pretty good draw.

Glad we avoided Leipzig, PSG and Inter.

Have not felt this confident in this competition since way back 2005-2006.

If we get past Porto and into the last 8, that's when we'll start to face teams on a similar level/perhaps better than us. There's potential for some really tasty games. But yes, I think we have a chance to go far in the competition.

Bar Newcastle and Villa (which both had questionable VAR decisions) we've shown that even when we go a goal down we can still come back into games. This season, we've shown some real mettle and I think over two leg games we can really assert our authority.

Obviously it depends on the opponent and there we have to get past Porto first, but I think we've got as good a chance as any team in this comp to go on and win it.
