This system has to be better in the long run imo.

Keane, Moyes, etc, left us with lots of players we couldn't shift.

Mowbray was almost the right fit but just a bit too stubborn ...

... I don't want someone who toes the line without question but the model/system/club has to be respected.

If the 'model' is akin to that used by, for example, clubs like Ajax or Barcelona, the Sporting Director or equivalent sets the general ethos and the Head Coach can tweak that within certain set parameters. That seems, to me, to be the approach KLD/KS want to take.

Just musing things on a Monday morning.

I'm fully behind the way it's meant to work and not giving the coach / manager free reign to sign his favourites, just pondering the man at the forefront being almost accepted to not being here for a long period of time

Is that forum still going? I thought it had died a death years ago.

I dreamt he’s been offered a five year contract last night.

To be honest I don’t mind wether we win or lose, although I prefer us to win but it’s forgotten within 5 minutes of the final whistle anyway.

Tried to listen to some of the reaction pods this morning but had to switch off. The negativity racing around about Beale and the cup allocation really HAS made people lose their ****.

If it IS Beale, then let's get it done and let's get on with it.

Correct. The days of Cloughie,Fergie and Wenger are gone. The strategy and the budget are set and the Head Coach, (Manager,as was), has to work towards his given targets,in exactly the same way as the Chef in the kitchen has to get the meals ready on time, so the Coach has to produce the expected results. If he comes up short,as with the Chef,he'll be out and someone else will be brought in who the club think can achieve the desired outcome from the investment and recruitment which has been provided within the overall strategy, which doesn't change. The Head Coach is as dispensible as the chef.

That's kind of the point I have badly made this morning. We appear to have a reputation for getting rid of managers/ coaches quickly but then the general acceptance is a coach is only around 2 seasons ish anyway.

One seems to contradict the other?

yeah this is the biggest meltdown for a new manager/head coach there has been was a meltdown when Mowbray got the job and he did very good job

lets give him a chance and avoid OTR when it announced be chaos over there

I suppose if you get one that's doing well then they might stay for several seasons. Think Guardiola at Barcelona and Bayern who both operate that kind of system.

Isn't that what we all hope, a coach comes in that just fits. My concern is its almost accepted that its short term and the first sign of dips there are people screaming for change

Yeah, that's true. I think its almost accepted that managers/head coaches will be fairly short term now, whether you have our model or not. Apparently the average tenure of Premier League managers is 628 days or so. Seems to be a lack of patience

I’ve seen Beale refer to the Ajax system and how he would be equally adaptable in joining a club of that nature to fit with their ethos and playing style.

Hardly anytime at all that when you think about it, guess owners get very twitchy in the premier league for fear of missing out on the money

I don’t think they’re gone mate, there’s still a lot of dumb clubs out there that operate in that same way. I don’t follow the Prem much so I’m not sure there (maybe Everton) but in this league there’s still lots of clubs like it. Stoke spring to mind immediately. Mind they’ve taken some baby steps towards modernising in the latest window.
