Exact mirror on my thoughts, talking to my Southampton mates, they are quite confident they will catch either Ipswich or Leicester, but were a bit worried, that we might nick one of the places, although after yesterday they now feel as though we are not consistent enough, and basically said, what we say on here, that we struggle against poorer teams that park the bus and then concede to easily, i am afraid i had to agree. :(.
They backed that up by saying look at the bottom three clubs, Leeds could only beat one of them, and made hard work of that.

I get what you're saying mate but obviously they are just as inconsistent, as they wouldn't be on the same points as us.

Southampton just had a bizarre bad spell where they started leaking like a sieve. It stopped as suddenly as it started and before and since they’ve been pretty solid. Weird one really.

Before yesterday their fans were saying that they're not clinical enough in front of goal, that may cost them, yes was weird how they let in so many on that run, from what I gather, it wasn't down to missing players but the system, which they have changed. Their confidence grew against us when we didn't turn up on the day, they've been on a great run since.

As I know you all love a stat - Southampton and Leeds top the xg stats. They were still near the top during their bad run. Think you’re right about the system but it seemed to combine with a run where they made mistakes and every opponent’s shot went in then they got done chasing the games. They also have kept their keeper who was probably the only keeper worse than meslier in the prem last season.

We have a few similarities with them.

Why is Daniel farke putting peroe as a number 10 and Rutter utter rubbish at number 9 , when it's obvious that utter rubbish, should be number 10 and piroe should be number 9

Look at the chances missed by Rutter, I even saw him shoot and not look where he was shooting as if he was hoping it would go in but it went well wide , Rutter is a uttr rubbish not a striker , how many goals are we losing because pireo is not number 9 , is it worth it ? Just to get Rutter scoring ? His record before signing was 2 goals in 15 matches , he has only just improved on that yet we are losing and drawing games because of Rutter been number 9 .

Poor old Rutter. Plays his heart out for us, & gets snash on a daily basis. He does exactly what is required of him by Farke. He presses like I've never seen anyone press. He is perpetual motion from beginning to end. That is exactly what Farke expects of a #9 for his setup. Why do I know this? Simples, he gets picked every week, & as we've seen in loads of pressers, he resists all suggestions that he play Piroe there. What he hasn't stated is clear to all who watch Piroe. He couldn't run a minoge. He has comparatively little stamina, & zero pace, so can't fulfil the #9 role that Farke requires. A bit like how Bielsa used Bamford, tbf. (And yet, against Swansea, he did work LF - & the game after. So why not every game?).

Next question is why does Piroe play at #10? Good question - but bear in mind that he's scored 8 goals from there. I'm guessing he's meant to ghost into the box, which is his playground, & not receive the attention he would playing a standard #9 role. In this system, he can't play #9, nor can he play on the wings, so where else would you play him?

Btw, again we saw Kamara crap out of a clear shot & passing sideways again. Becoming a bit of a signature for him. Don't know if anyone noticed how we played very little down the right, particularly in the 1st half. Both Archie & wee Danny were in acres of space on the right, & rarely received a straight pass. Nope, got to pass it to at least 2 players to switch wings. Absolute madness, giving their defence ample time to reorganise. We were very slow to play for most of the game. Very disappointing. Sometime I just wished Mesler would just hump the ball up the middle & wake our players up a bit, but no, let's do slo-mo instead. I get passing it round the back to spot an opening, but I don't get the same pace being used going forward. It appears that we're good when we act on instinct & training, but if we get time to think, we procrastinate. Needs to change.

Anyone catch Djed ambling back when they attacked riotously? Very Firpo-esque.

I agree with some of what you say but my view and lots of Leeds fans view is piroe is playing out of position , a player playing out of position often does not hit the mark that's why his goals have dried up , but even out of position he has scored double what Rutter has , a centre forwards job is not to be doing assists its to score himself which Rutter is NOT doing , if piroe was in Rutter position he would score alot more goals and if your saying Rutter justifies his place by assisting then he could still assist in piroes position behind the centre forward , in fact there are numerous players that we could buy or loan that can do assists if leeds get back to premier which with a display like Coventry match is going to be difficult , then we should sell Rutter if anyone is stupid enough to pay 35m as we did for a supposedly striker that record was 2 goals in 15 matches , Rutter will never improve to the level of piroe , he has not got it full stop.
Any other team in championship would have dropped him by now , are we going to sacrifice our place in the premier league because of a donkey like Rutter?

Hi everyone I watched piroes goals for Swansea as he joined us. I have to say no way was he leading the line and I don't see him as a 9.There I think is our problem as Bamford is shot in confidence and body. Gelhardt is a poor sub and needs shipping out. Dan James missed a winner but has scored some good goals this season.Rutter has made some brilliant goals but his finishing is dire. Coventry were beatable if we had a decent striker to bring on but we don't. If the owners are serious about promotion then they need to sign a top striker in January. Give dj Ed a kick up the rear end and put him at right back. Sign a proper left back and use Byram as a sub for either flank. So let's see what the 49ers are made off and never mind Farke being happy as the results do not lie.

Interesting stat since you mentioned Byram that is probably meaningless but we haven’t won of the matches he has not played in. Drawn five, lost one.

Piroe isn’t a 9 and can’t press which is why he’s not playing as a 9. Rutter could play as a 10 but we’d need a Bamford esk playing as a 9 but his confidence is gone.
